A big shout out to the lovely Grazia UK ladies staying in the apartment this week, using it as a base whilst they shoot some stuff for the magazine out there.
We'll try to remember to post the feature once it runs but in the meantime, if you fancy spending some time in the fab city that is Berlin, get in touch about availability asap - the Christmas Markets will be starting soon and the calendar is filling up fast a result..

Happy weekend all! A booking we took recently for July 16th - 21st has sadly fallen through freeing up almost an entire week at the apartment this month.
It's likely to go in the next few days but just in case it might be of interest to anyone on here, let us know ASAP.
August is now fully booked bar the 12th - 15th and we have bookings well into Sept & Oct.

We can't think of many better ways to beat the post holiday blues than booking oneself a little break in Berlin!
There are still a handful of dates in May available, including the second Bank Holiday weekend..
We've just got back from spending a fab Easter break over there & here's a sneak peak of a vintage Bauhaus poster we picked up on EBay having found itself a new home in the apartment..

Having popped to the fab Nancy's Pantry in Dalston y'day for lunch, it reminded us that Berlin has got heaps of these - what they call Kinder cafés - places to get a decent cup of coffee or bite to eat, whilst the kids have their own dedicated play area.
As there are quite a few followers on here taking their families to Berlin over the next few months, we thought this piece in the Guardian might be useful as it lists some of the best the city has to offer..

Busy Busy few days for bookings at the apartment..only one weekend left in April..bit more availability in May but only one weekend left in June & large chunks of July & August have been snapped up.
If you are thinking of escaping to Berlin at all this year (and we very much recommend that you do 😉) and fancy a modern, spacious and well connected base from which to see it, get in touch ASAP.

Afternoon lovely followers..
We wanted to share some news with you regarding the pricing and potential future of our lovely apartment in the fantastic city of Berlin.
A week or so ago the Berlin Government introduced a law that will effectively, as is being done in the likes of New York, stamp out holiday lets in the city. In addition to this clamp down, they are also introducing a 5% tax to be levied on all tourist accommodation (hotels, hostels, holiday lets etc).
As a result this is forcing us to increase our prices a tad when we had very much hoped to be able to keep them the same this year. This 5% increase will not be going to us but straight to the German government.
The reasoning behind the clampdown is because they feel holiday lets are pushing property prices up in the city and also a number of badly run lets have caused distress for those living in neighbouring properties. We feel it is unfair to crack down on holiday lets entirely for these reasons – not least because many have brought an unbelievable amount of tourism to Berlin (much of which sees spending power in areas that wouldn't ordinarily benefit from the tourist trade) but also because it has become one of the only affordable ways in which to see the city – not least when you have kids in tow.
Furthermore, responsible owners such as ourselves do what we can to minimise the impact of short term letting on our neighbours so it is unfair to lump everyone together.
The jury is out on whether they can actually really enforce the law but they have 2 years in which to try. As you can imagine, we very much hope they can’t - or the law changes in some way to be a little fairer.
We adore having our little base in Berlin and have loved being able to share it with so many of you over the past 3 years.
We hope we can continue to do so for many more months/years to come.
