In 2018, when our son was born I wanted to make a change.

After intense years on the road, I made the decision to stop using planes. This decision lasted 8 years until this project in Ethiopia came up.
In the beginning I struggeled a bit with the decision but looking back to it now, I‘m happy I decided to fly in order to make this project come to life.
The Inspiration which shines through the eyes of my protagonists & their ideas has a much bigger impact than me avoiding that flight.
Even more important for me, going to developing countries represents usually a reminder for me of how lucky we are in Europe and what priviliged life we live here. This time it became the opposite. I was so suprises how progressive the Ethiopian society has become: 100%renewable electricity for less than 1ct per kwh, newly registered cars have to be 100% electric, … and the list goes on while we in Germany discuss if wind turbines do visually fit in the environment or not.

I got very concerned how hard Ethiopians are affected by climate change. Speaking with people there and explaining them that in Germany our strongest political party (sadly!!) denies the existence of the climate crisis, made clear how bad the situation in Europe really is.

Coming back to the city is pretty difficult for me. Changing company of trees and water for concrete and noise it's not the best idea for the summer heat wave time. That's why I would like to share with you a little part of the place that I was lucky to spend last few days in. With my friend Jerry we recorded for you a live version of the song "Don't Break My Heart" , which many of you have been recently asking for.
I hope that you will enjoy it. Song will come soon... stay tune and if you have any chance - go to the forest. That's the best medicine for everything.
