Outward Bound goes Singapur 🌏🌿
Unser Einblick in die Weltkonferenz von Outward Bound International
Bevor es in den Konferenzraum ging, ging’s erstmal in die Mangroven. 🛶🌿
Zur Weltkonferenz in Singapur sind wir etwas früher angereist. Bei der Preconference konnten wir Outward Bound Singapur kennenlernen und selbst bei einem Programm mitmachen, das die Trainer*innen sonst mit ihren Teilnehmenden durchführen.
Also rein in die Kajaks und los: entlang der Insel Pulau Ubin, durch die Mangroven und anschließend zu Fuß durch den Dschungel zu den beiden älteren Campusstandorten. Ziemlich beeindruckend. Und ziemlich schweißtreibend. An die Hitze und die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit mussten wir uns erstmal gewöhnen. 😅
Mit dabei waren unsere Geschäftsführerin Christine, Artur und Freddy aus der Standortleitung Schwangau sowie Julia, unsere pädagogische Leitung. 💚
Spannend, selbst wieder in der Teilnehmendenrolle zu sein und zu erleben, wie die Kolleg*innen in Singapur arbeiten. Da nimmt man einiges mit nach Hause. Neue Ideen, gemeinsame Erinnerungen und jede Menge Gesprächsstoff.
Danke an das Team von Outward Bound Singapur fürs Zeigen, Begleiten und Möglichmachen. Ihr habt uns mit offenen Armen empfangen und wart immer zur Stelle. Schön, dass wir bei euch sein durften! 💚

Inside the Outward Bound International World Conference
Before heading into the conference room, we headed into the mangroves. 🛶🌿
We arrived a little early for the Outward Bound World Conference in Singapore to join the preconference programme. It was a chance to get to know Outward Bound Singapore and experience the activities their instructors usually run with participants.
So, into the kayaks we went! We paddled along the coast of Pulau Ubin and through the mangroves, then explored the jungle and the two older campuses on foot. Pretty impressive. And pretty sweaty. The heat and humidity definitely took some getting used to. 😅
Along for the adventure were Christine, our Managing Director; Artur and Freddy, who lead our Schwangau centre; and Julia, our Head of Education. 💚
It was great to be participants again and experience how our colleagues in Singapore work. We came away with plenty of fresh ideas, shared memories and lots to talk about.
A big thank you to the Outward Bound Singapore team for showing us around, guiding us and making it all happen. You welcomed us with open arms and were always there to help. We loved spending this time with you! 💚
