I used to skate a lot when I was younger. So to me there’s something pretty special about the idea of spending time on our holiday teaching my daughter how to skate.

If you feel the same, you don’t have to bring your skateboards from home. We rent out kids skateboards from banwoodbikes as well as skateboards for adult and older kids. So you can actually go skating together on your holiday. 🛹

This was my first visit to (Open Air Museum), and honestly, I’m wondering why it took me so long.

Animals, nature, playgrounds, horse-drawn carriages, old houses, a little historic village, food… and A LOT of space for kids to explore.

It’s huge, so you can easily spend a full day here. We stayed for half a day and only saw about half of it.

And the best part?
Kids under 18 get in for free. 🎉

Bring a stroller for the little ones, put on your walking shoes and make a day of it.

OPEN AIR MUSEUM

I have to admit, this was my first ever visit to Frilandsmuseet / The Open Air Museum (Open Air Museum) and definitely not my last.

Because wow. What a place.

Just a 20-minute train ride from Copenhagen, you’ll find this huge open-air museum with pretty much everything a family with kids could wish for: nature, animals, playgrounds, horse-drawn carriages, an old-fashioned mini village, food, snacks and plenty of space to just run around.

It’s HUGE, so you can easily spend a full day here. And the best part? Kids under 18 get in for free, while adult tickets are just 135 DKK when bought online.

One tip: bring a stroller for the little ones. There’s a lot of ground to cover.

We spent half a day there and probably only saw half of it. But my daughter had the absolute time of her life❤️

Copenhagen has the world’s only socioeconomic street in the world called Saxogade where all the shops give opportunities to people in difficult life situations.

Drinking your morning coffee in Copenhagen and then this happens…
If you are in Copenhagen in the Vesterbro area, one of the popular places to hang out is in Carlsbergbyen. The old brewery area has been transformed to a hip part of the city, where you find amazing food, playgrounds for the kids, good coffee and yeah, sometimes the brewery horses promenade through the streets.

Doors and Dreams
When I travel, whether it’s for business with Easygoing or with my family, I always take a lot of pictures.
And somehow a good portion of those pictures are always of doors.
I can’t really explain my fascination with them. Maybe it’s the beautiful craftsmanship in some of the old doors. Maybe it’s the rough look of a steel gate covered in graffiti.
Or maybe it’s the stories that I know are hidden behind the door. The small store that will pull up the gate in a couple of hours. The people who live there, and if I could only look behind the door, I could see and hear all the everyday drama that is hidden behind the door.
I have photograph large wooden doors, that lead into old convents. Narrow, worn out doors, that opens up into a small family home. Beautifully decorated doors in majestic houses.
But the thing they all have in common is that they are a gateway to another world and culture, a passage to so many interesting people and stories.
