🎃 Halloween in Tivoli 🎃
This season The Tivoli Gardens are filled with pumpkins. Quite a lot of pumpkins. More than 20,000 of them are displayed around the Gardens, alongside scarecrows, spiders and the Halloween stalls.

The rides stay open during the Halloween season, and there are activities for younger visitors including the Little Ghost Train and Witch’s Carousel. For anyone after something less child-friendly, Tivoli also has two Scary Houses.

After dark, the Tivoli Lake is also used for Halloween Illuminations, an approximately eight-minute show with light, lasers, smoke, fire and water. Times vary by day, so check the programme before you go.

🌙 Remember Culture Night this friday🌙
A little reminder that Culture Night () takes over Copenhagen on Friday 9 October, with plenty happening right here on Nørrebro.

At Nørrebro Bibliotek on Nørrebrogade, the library is transformed with projections, light, sound, music and stories. Over at Brorsons Kirke on Rantzausgade, ChurChill brings electronic music and visual art into the church. And at Union on Nørre Allé, Poetry Unleashed brings poets and jazz musicians together for the evening.

These are just a few of the Nørrebro events in this year’s programme, so have a look before deciding where to start.

🍽️ Dining Week in Copenhagen 🍽️
If you’re visiting Denmark in October, 9-18 October is a particularly good time to come hungry.

During Dining Week, participating restaurants across Copenhagen and the rest of Denmark put together a special menu for the occasion, which you can book at a fixed price.

This autumn, participating restaurants offer either three courses for DKK 250, five servings for DKK 350 or a tasting menu for DKK 525. You choose the restaurant and time and book your table in advance through Dining Week.
There are plenty of Copenhagen restaurants taking part, including options around Nørrebro, so it’s worth having a look at the programme before your trip.

The sun is still finding its way to our rooftop terrace, and it’s still a lovely spot for a coffee or a quiet break above Nørrebrogade.
Just bring a jacket. Autumn has definitely arrived in Copenhagen.

🌙 Culture Night in Copenhagen🌙
On Friday 9 October, Copenhagen stays open after dark for Culture Night.
More than 200 museums, theatres, libraries, churches, ministries and other cultural institutions open their doors from 18:00 to midnight.

Culture Night is a chance to get into places you might normally walk straight past, from city towers to underground tunnels and hidden rooms.

The events are spread across Copenhagen, including Nørrebro, so you can easily start close to Hotel Nora and see where the evening takes you.

All you need is a Culture Pass. It costs 125 DKK, gives you access to the events and includes public transport for the evening.

The full programme is released on 11 September, so it’s worth checking before you head out.

🏃🏾‍♀️Copenhagen Half Marathon passes right by Hotel Nora🏃
On Sunday 20 September, thousands of runners take on 21.0975 kilometres through Copenhagen.
The route crosses Dronning Louises Bro and continues up Nørrebrogade, straight past Hotel Nora. So if you’re staying with us, you won’t have to go far to see the race.
Step outside the hotel and you’re right by the route. Or head up to the rooftop terrace, where you get a great view over Nørrebrogade and the runners making their way through the neighbourhood.

Expect plenty of people, cheering and a very different Nørrebrogade than usual.
Just remember that roads along the route will be closed during the race, so check your route before heading across town.

☀️ Breakfast by the lakes☀️
Just by Dronning Louises Bro, a new breakfast and lunch spot has opened at Sortedam Dossering 3.

Sol serves simple breakfast favourites with a build-your-own approach. A homemade sourdough bun starts at 20 DKK, with cheese, ham or salami added as you like. They also do omelettes the same way, plus options like dirty banana bread with mascarpone cream and chocolate.

The best part might be the location. There is plenty of outdoor seating right by the lakes, with sun from the early morning.

Very close to Hotel Nora, and worth keeping in mind for a slow Copenhagen breakfast.

A neighbourhood market just around the corner🛍️
On Saturday 5 September, .2200, Birkegade and Egegade turn into one big street market.

There will be secondhand finds, vintage clothes, old records and stalls from both locals and shops in the area. The cafés and restaurants are joining in too, and there will be music in the streets throughout the day.

It’s free to visit, family-friendly and only a short walk from Hotel Nora. A good excuse to wander through some of our favourite Nørrebro streets and see what you come home with.

🚶 A car-free Sunday on Nørrebrogade🚶

On Sunday 30 August, Nørrebrogade will be quiet.

From 12:00 to 16:00, the street closes to cars and bikes from Dronning Louises Bro to Nørrebro Station, making room for people instead.

There will be activities for both children and adults, local associations and cultural organisations out in the street, and several thousand pieces of chalk ready for one very long drawing on Nørrebrogade.

If you’re staying at Hotel Nora, you’re right in the middle of it.
