Hindsgavl Festival er en af Europas førende internationale klassiske musikfestivaler. Festivalen finder sted hver juli i et koncentreret forløb med ca. 16 koncerter på otte koncertdage i de smukke omgivelser på Hindsgavl Slot ved Middelfart. Her præsenteres i tre koncertserier en lang række verdensstjerner, unge talenter og nyeste trends inden for klassisk kompositionsmusik. Festivalen skal være f

or alle - også ikke-kyndige. Festivalen udvikler derfor en ny formidlingsform af klassisk musik med fællesskabet i centrum. De mange klassiske verdensstjerner samt en del af publikum bor på slottet i typisk to til fire dage ad gangen og således opstår en helhedsoplevelse med foredrag, kunstnermøder, åbne prøver, måltider samt andre sociale arrangementer.

The last day of Hindsgavl Festival 2025 brought three beautiful farewells. In the morning, pianist Malcolm Martineau returned to the Barn, this time accompanied by baritone Theodore Platt, with Lieder by Britten and Schumann. The Chiaroscuro Quartet followed with a powerful performance of Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge. And to close the festival, Esther Hoppe, Christian Poltéra, and Ronald Brautigam reunited once again at Hindsgavl for a breathtaking Brahms trio.

We said goodbye to the fields, the deer, and the sea breeze – swam one last time by the deck, and, as tradition has it, danced into the night in the castle courtyard 🍃🐠🎻🌕

What a thrilling edition it’s been. We already look forward to next year’s magic!✨

Tuesday at Hindsgavl unfolded in a calm and joyful atmosphere, with music echoing through the castle and gardens as the festival nears its close 🎼🌳📻

In the afternoon, mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz and pianist Malcolm Martineau returned to the festival with an intimate lieder recital, featuring works by Schumann, Wolf, and Zemlinsky. Later in the evening, the Chiaroscuro Quartet was joined by Christian Poltéra and Cédric Tiberghien for a powerful programme of Schubert and Brahms — performed on the 1859 Blüthner grand piano from the Christoph Kern collection.

Throughout the day, Danish Radio P2 was on site, capturing voices, impressions, and music from artists and audiences alike.

Monday at Hindsgavl marked the beginning of the festival’s final stretch, with a day full of good energy and shared moments. 🎻🌊🌖

In the afternoon, Olga Pashchenko gave her second recital, performing works by Clara Schumann, Liszt, Chopin, and F***y Mendelssohn on the 1859 Blüthner grand piano, kindly on loan from the Christoph Kern collection. The evening concert featured Arcangelo under the direction of Jonathan Cohen, with Soraya Mafi and Iestyn Davies presenting a vibrant programme of Handel duets.

Later that night, several musicians from Arcangelo braved the cold and leapt into the Danish fjord for a midnight swim — followed by impromptu singing by the water, wrapped in blankets, as the festival gently approached its final days.

Sunday at Hindsgavl was a relaxed day, with musicians and guests spending time together in and around the castle. 🌊🪈🍷🐕

In the afternoon, Lucie Horsch and Olga Pashchenko presented an adventurous programme for recorder and harpsichord, spanning early music and contemporary works.
The evening brought together Carolin Widmann, Danusha Waskiewicz, Christian Poltéra, and Denis Kozhukhin for a piano quartet concert full of surprises.

Meanwhile, the festival camp has arrived and set up tents on the castle grounds — ready to enjoy the final four days of the festival ⛺🎶

A rainy Saturday at Hindsgavl offered the perfect occasion to enjoy the warmth of the castle and the full programme of day four 🎼☔️🪈🌈

From a morning clarinet and piano concert with Paloma Kouider and Annelien Van Wauwe, to afternoon chamber music with a Scandinavian piano trio, and a lyrical evening recital with soprano Christiane Karg and pianist Wolfram Rieger, joined by flautist Jill Jeschek and cellist Christian Poltéra.

Day three was another full one: it opened with a 2.5-hour concert by pianist Kristoffer Hyldig, performing Olivier Messiaen’s Twenty Contemplations on the Infant Jesus. 🎹🎶

Violinist Carolin Widmann — a long-time friend of the festival — returned to Hindsgavl for a beautiful afternoon concert with pianist Denis Kozhukhin, featuring works by Beethoven and Brahms. They were followed by a colourful evening programme from the BREEZE Wind Quintet and pianist Paloma Kouider.

As always, the night didn’t end there, but carried on with conversation, laughter, and drinks in the castle’s stunning halls. 🥂✨

Day two at Hindsgavl: More of the gentle Danish summer atmosphere — chats on the castle steps, glimpses of local wildlife, and, of course, unforgettable music. 🌿🦌🎶🥂

A horn quintet and a string octet brought us a rich afternoon programme with works by Mozart and Mendelssohn, followed in the evening by a solo concert from pianist Denis Kozhukhin performing Franz Liszt.

Yesterday we officially opened Hindsgavl Festival 2025 🎻🎶🐚

As every year, music brought us together — surrounded by nature, in the company of friends, colleagues, and new acquaintances.

A heartfelt thank you to all the musicians for three remarkable concerts:

Two chamber music performances with works by Haydn, Schubert, and Brahms, followed by a more experimental late-night concert inspired by folk traditions and Renaissance music.

On the 8th and final day of this year’s , we enjoyed two incredible concerts ♥️
In the afternoon, , Christian Poltéra, and Ronald Brautigam performed Schubert’s Piano Trio No. 2 in E flat major.
In the evening, the Pavel Haas Quartet, joined by and , played works by Martinů, Schulhoff, and Dvořák, closing the festival on a high note 🎻✨
The night ended with a traditional ball at the castle, featuring and on the piano in the great hall.
A fitting end to an amazing festival 🎶
