Our Story

The El Encuentro Surf Lodge is an exclusive hotel located amongst the breathtaking northern coastline of the Dominican Republic in Cabarete. Just a minutes stroll from the islands best surf spot, Playa Encuentro and a 10 minutes drive from one of the world’s best kiting locations, Kite Beach, you really have everything at your finger tips.

The Superior Studios are 540 sq ft (50 sqm) and equipped with a king size bed, large comfy sitting area, a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom, A/C and a terrace overlooking our lush tropical garden. Every Superior Studio sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults with 2 children. The sitting area sofa can be used as two single beds: one that is 5.2 ft (160cm) long and the other that is 6.6 ft (200cm) long and both are 2.3 ft (70 cm) wide. An à la carte breakfast and free wireless internet are included in the room price.

In between surf and kite sessions, you can enjoy a relaxing time at the refreshing saltwater pool with some books from our little library, spoil your body with a massage or find inner peace at the close-by yoga studio.

Walk down to famous surf beach ‘Playa Encuentro’ and catch some waves, or just take a walk down the seemingly endless Caribbean beach until you reach Cabarete. A variety of adventurous excursions can be arranged for you – horseback riding, bike trips, surf classes, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling …
