Summer has arrived in the Ecuadorian Andes, and our beloved Chilcabamba is shining at its very best - opening the door to adventures framed by breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and the magic of the Andes highlands.
This May 24th holiday - Pichincha's battle that paved the way for Ecuador back in 1822 - for us a welcome break from the day-to-day rhythm of school, football games, teenage fiestas, and our always-busy business litestyle, to explore what we lovingly call our Cotopaxi home.
From hiking along the crystal-clear Pita River to making the kids fish for our lunch (which was obviously a highlight). Meeting our incredible local dream team, reconnecting with nature, and slowing down enough to enjoy the little things reminded us once again and always why we built our version of Chilcabamba.
A very special milestone during this trip was inaugurating our new guides' rooms. We love experiencing every corner we create at Chilca firsthand, making sure every detail feels warm, comfortable, and authentic. We could not be prouder or more certain that our Guardians will feel deeply at home there.
From rivers to volcanoes, community to adventure, the Ecuadorian Andes continue to inspire us every single time we return.
