Meet the “Angel Bees” of the Amazon
The Ecuadorian Amazon holds an estimated 50 to 60 species of stingless bees (such as Melipona, Trigona sp, and Tetragonisca angustula), yet much of their world remains undocumented by science.
Fun Fact: Tetragonisca angustula are called angel bees because their honey is pure goodness! It’s packed with nutrients and anti-inflammatory properties comparable to famous Manuka honey.
