A piece of Switzerland in Galapagos.

My name is Silvia, Swiss by birth, I own this hostel with my husband José. Traveling through South America with my backpack in the 80s, I had the opportunity to visit the Galapagos Islands during a short and unexpected stay, and I immediately fell in love with it.

When I returned to Switzerland, going back to the enchanted islands had become an obsession for me.

After some odd jobs, I finally decided to settle on the island of San Cristobal and open my first establishment, in 1998: a cafeteria. I was determined to live on this paradisiacal island!

Always passionate about the very diverse fauna of the Galapagos, I then followed a training course to become an official "Tourist Guide", like my Ecuadorian husband, José. By sharing our knowledge with tourists from all over the world, or young students during exchanges with the USA, we were getting closer to our dream every day.
