Today we want to introduce you to the incredible Tintoreras tour, one of our favorite activities within magical Isabela. This tour is named after the presence of white-tip sharks resting during the day in the crystal-clear water channels among the volcanic rocks.

However, it is much more than that. It takes place on a small islet in front of the town, which due to its location and formation acts as a nursery for many endemic species. During the short walk on the islet, you will see why it is one of the areas with the highest nesting rates, especially for marine iguanas, which can lay their eggs among the volcanic rocks and thus keep them protected.

If you go at the right season, you can see the interaction among baby marine iguanas, sea lions, white-tip sharks, and sea turtles. Watching them play is one of the most beautiful delights of this tour.

The tour doesn’t stop there; on the itinerary is enjoying a beautiful snorkeling session surrounded by marine life, and of course, the favorites of many because they are chubby and cute: the Galápagos penguins, which come out to say hello and often accompany visitors during the snorke.

The mandarin lime from our highlands — a sweet, juicy citrus that tastes like sun and volcanic soil. We mix it with fresh mint and rum straight from Havana… the result is as addictive as an afternoon at the beach in Puerto Villamil.

El Limón mandarina de nuestra parte alta, un cítrico dulce y jugoso que sabe a sol y tierra volcánica. Lo mezclamos con hierbabuena fresca y ron directo de La Habana… el resultado es tan adictivo como una tarde de playa en Puerto Villamil.
