This is an actual 11 day / 10 night Itinerary for day trips from Quito Brick House to give an idea of the activities that you may want to include in your personalized package. Several external links (copy and paste) to other Internet sites are shown to give some reading and background information.
Day 1, Monday, Travel Day. Arrival Quito Airport (5:25 PM) in house around 7 PM. Something ready to eat. (Airport Pickup)
Day 2, Tuesday, AM: Shopping: (Chirriyaccu open market (vegetables / meats) Mega-Maxi supermarket (located in the El Recreo Mall), bottled water, Ecuadorian Lunch (for 4 people, about $16 total), buy an Ecuadorian phone “chip”. Anything imported is more expensive here than in the States (at least 40% more, but sometimes 2 or 3 times more). Check out the “eye popping” prices on electronics while you are at the mall. Day 3, Wednesday, : Carolina Park, Mercado Artisanal, La Foch / La Mariscal http://www.quito.com.ec/que-visitar/la-mariscal (popular tourist area with restaurants), El Panecillo (overlook of Colonial Quito), El Ejido Park (indigenous shops). There are some entrance fees for exhibits at Carolina Park, but the park itself is open to the public. Practice your bartering skills in the indigenous shops. (if you get them down 30% you are doing pretty good, remember you don’t need this stuff, you only would like to have it).

Day 6, Saturday, English Meeting (11 AM) or local Spanish meeting (6:00 PM), Personal Day (Taxi trip to English Kingdom Hall about $7 (return about the same)
Day 7, Sunday, ALL DAY: Otavalo http://gringosabroad.com/otavalo-tour-ecuador / / Cotacachi , Leather (I have been told that Ministry Ideaz has a store in Cotacachi – but we haven’t found it yet) , Indigenous markets , mountains (Cayambe Volcano). Cuicocha Crater Lake. Cuicocha is a 3 km wide caldera and crater lake at the foot of Cotacachi Volcano in the Cordillera Occidental of the Ecuadorian Andes. Its name comes from the Kichwa indigenous language and means "Lago del Cuy" or Guinea Pig Laguna in English. Day 8, Monday, ALL DAY: Trip to Guayaquil and Branch. (Leave House for Airport 4:00 AM, Flight leaves 6:00 AM.: Airport drop-off (Evening arrive Quito 4:50 p.m. on Tame airlines flight #192. : Airport Pickup about 5:15 PM. (you will need to make your own arrangements for touring the Ecuador Branch. Do this
Day 9, Tuesday, ALL DAY: Papallacta thermal springs / pools www.termaspapallacta.com/?lang=en , (thermal pools entrance is $8.50 per adult. fresh trout for lunch (~$6 per person outside of the resort, they have good food and restaurants in the resort, but prices are about double), pass Antisana Volcano. This is a full resort, offering Spa treatments, horseback riding and more (see website). Termas de Papallacta www.termaspapallacta.com. Termas Papallacta is a Hot Springs Spa and Resort located in a magical High Andes landscape. More than a destination, it is an integral holistic experience.
Day 10, Wednesday, ALL DAY: Mitad Del Mundo www.mitaddelmundo.com /, Pululahua Volcano Crater http://www.turismo.gob.ec/la-reserva-geobotanica-pululahua-invita-al-turista-a-disfrutar-de-su-encanto-natural. 6 – 9 PM Ecuadorian Dance / Music / Pizza party here at the house with local friends. Day 11, Thursday, Travel Day. AM: Breakfast, final packing, good byes, 11:30 AM Leave for Airport. (Airport Drop-off, with 2 to 3 hours of advance check in time for International Flights)
