All products are 100% handmade, using techniques that I have perfected over many years of lovingly creating clothes and accessories. In the beginning it was for my favourite dolls and later for myself. I was always on the look out for fabric cast offs, so I could deconstruct unloved garments and lovingly stitch the pieces together on an old hand-powered sewing machine.
This excitement of creating new from old has ignited a passion for upcycling in me. I continue to design and create. And even though many of the techniques I use remain the same, I now work with a modern and reliable sewing machine that runs on electricity!
MATERIALS:
All my products are made from quality fabrics such as denim, cotton and hessian. I also offer the option of using recyled denim jeans in products such as my bags. Not only does this create a fun and fashionable look, it also helps to protect the environment by reducing waste and the release of chemicals during the denim production process. All the recycled fabrics I use are clean and free from damage.
If you fall in love with a denim bag that has sold, I will do my best to create a similar product for you. However, because of the recycled nature of the jeans I use, I am unable to create two items exactly the same. This means when you buy from me, you can be safe in the knowledge that you are buying a unique product.
I am always happy to use your own jeans in my bag production if you would like something completely bespoke.
SERVICES:
Workshops
I am delighted to offer the opportunity for you to learn how to upcycle your old demins into fashionable accessories. I run workshops for individuals and groups and would love the chance to share my skills with you and your friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
Design
If you have a particular design in mind, and are not able to find it in the shops, I would love to work with you to create a bespoke garment that meets your needs. I am able to design clothing from scratch using either your ideas or my own, and relish the challenge of making something perfect, just for you.
Alternatively, if there is a style you've spotted elsewhere that you love, I am happy to create my own version for you.
Repairs
Having spent years perfecting a range of skills, I am able to offer a full menu of repair services for women's clothes and accessories.
Alterations
Again, I am highly experienced in fitting clothes to women and am able to offer a full range of alteration services. Contact me for a quote.
Quilting
Sometimes clothes are too prescious to throw out because they remind you of a special time in your life or a person you love. Why not create a special keepsake to help keep that memory alive by giving me the opportunity to create a quilt from these special pieces. Ideal examples include baby clothes from a now grown-up child, or a special outfit from a much missed relative. Fabrics can also be chosen simply because they compliment your colour scheme. Whatever the reason behind your quilt, there is nothing nicer than seeing all your favourite fabrics laid out together.
I am also able to offer beautifully crafted teddy bears using fabrics of your choice.
