Aruni hotell on kunstihotell, mis on pühendunud ilusate mälestuste loomisele Orissaarel, Saaremaal.
Vuntsime üles endise internaatkooli ja kui valmis saab (loodetavasti 2023), siis kutsume sind hea meelega endale külla.
Mis seal teha saab?
Saaremaa on teada-tuntud koht rohelise ja jätkusuutliku turismi harrastamiseks. 2020. valiti Saaremaa Läänemere jätkusuutlikuimaks reisisihtkohaks ja samal aastal napsas ka Põhjamaade suurimalt turismimessilt MATKA jätkusuutliku sihtkoha tiitli.
Meie väljapakutud tegevused peegeldavad jätkusuutliku reisimise ideesid, mida tugevalt toetame.
Saad aja maha võtta rattasõidu, metsaretke või merre sulpsatamisega. Või siis vihmasematel päevadel võid lihtsalt hea raamatu laenutada ja mõnusa seltskonna seltsis logeleda.
Kui tekib aga inspiratsioonisähvatus, siis kasuta julgelt meie töötubasid, et idee paberile, videosse või helilindile salvestada. Meie multifunktsionaalsetesse stuudiotesse on oodatud katsetama nii asjaarmastajad kui professionaalid!
Kus magada saab?
Esialgu on meie toad kõik sama nägu – tühjad lõuendid. Järk-järgult aga hakkame kutsuma erinevaid professionaalseid kunstnikke meie tubasid oma nägu tegema. Lõpuks on iga tuba täitsa isemoodi. Kui hästi ilusti küsid, siis võid isegi oma lemmikkunstnikku kujundatud toas öö veeta ja inspiratsiooni ammutada.
Mida hamba alla saab?
Saaremaal on hulga head ja värsket kohalikku kraami. Koduse kõhutäie saad Pritsukast, popi köhutäie restoranist Köht, taimse kõhutäie meie enda hotelli restost, aga kõige mõnusama kõhutäie saad ise või koos teiste külalistega kokata meie külaliste köögis.
Keda kohata võib?
Aruni hotellis võid näha igasuguseid huvitavaid tegelasi luusimas. Paneme püsti kunstiresidentuuri, kus laseme professionaalidel oma töösse süveneda ja kui hästi läheb, siis saame ehk ka protsessi näha või kuulda. Hoia silmad-kõrvad lahti!
Kas see on ka kallis?
Me ööbimise hindasid veel ei tea, aga anname sulle kohe teada kui asja selgeks saame. Transpordi mõttes saad Tallinnast Orissaarde tulla näiteks bussiga. Viimati kui vaatasime, oli hinnaks 13.50 kuni 16 eurot ots (praamipilet selle sees). Ratta kohapeal kimamiseks saad meie käest tasuta.
Kust see Aruni nimi tuleb?
Hotell kannab meie poja Aruni nime. Arun on praegu 3-aastane ja pakatab loovast (ja lammutavast) energiast. Ta katsetab piiridega, on hirmus uudishimulik ja alati valmis uuteks ettevõtmisteks. Arun tähendab Sanskriti keeles esimest päikesekiirt ja sümboliseerib uut algust.
Me loodame, et tuled Orissaarde ja saad sõõmu värsket õhku, leiad uue alguse, ammutad inspiratsiooni ja lased oma loovad jõud valla.

Arun’s Hotel is an art hotel, dedicated to helping you create experiences when you visit Orissaare, Saaremaa.
We are fixing the former boarding school, and once we are done, hopefully in 2023, we’ll be delighted if you can join us.
What can I do there?
Saaremaa is well regarded as the best place in Estonia for green, sustainable tourism. In 2020, Saaremaa was also chosen as the laureate of a sustainable travel destination in the Baltic Sea. In the same year, Saaremaa also received the title of sustainable destination at the largest Nordic tourism fair, MATKA, held in Finland.
Our suggested activities reflect the sustainable tourism ideas that we passionately support.
You can recharge yourself with a bike ride, a forest hike, or a jump into the Baltic sea. If it’s too rainy outside, grab a book from the library with thousands available titles, or enjoy a beverage with company, and just allow yourself to be lazy.
If inspiration hits you, don’t be shy to use our equipment and spaces to let your creative juices flow on paper, video or soundtrack. Both, professionals, and amateurs are welcome to give art-making a go at our dance, music, painting, sculpting or metaverse studios.
Where can I sleep?
At first, all the rooms will look the same – blank canvases. Bit by bit we will invite professional artists to give rooms makeovers. Eventually, each room will have it’s own look and character. If you ask nicely, you may be able to sleep in the room designed by your favorite artist, and get a boost of inspiration.
What can I eat there?
Saaremaa has plenty of fresh, local produce. A homely meal can be found in Pritsukas, a vougish bite you will be able to source from Köht, a veg meal order from our own hotel restaurant. We encourage you to also prepare the best meal, by yourselves or in collaboration with other guests, at our well equipped guest kitchen.
Who else is hanging out there?
You can pop into some interesting figures in Arun’s hotel. We will set up an art residency, where we allow professionals to dig deep into their work. If we’re lucky, we may get a glimpse into their process, or ask them a question or two. Be ready!
Is it expensive to stay and get there?
We don’t know the prices of the stay yet, but we will let you know as soon as we have finalized it. In terms of transport, you can easily hop on a bus from Tallinn. Last time we checked, the one way price was between 13.50 and 16 EUR, depending on the carrier (it includes the ferry ticket). To get around locally, you can lend a bike from us for no extra charge.
Why the name Arun?
The hotel is named after our son, Arun, who is currently 3 years old and full of creative (as well as destructive) energy. He tests boundaries, is eager to learn, is open to new experiences. The name Arun, is a Sanskrit word, which literally means the first rays of the sun and symbolizes a new beginning.
