The Western Desert of Egypt

The Western Desert of Egypt is all west of the Nile valley, in other words two thirds of the country. Its 680.650 square kilometres (262.800 square miles) are equivalent to the size of Texas or the combined area of Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Yet, the Western Desert of Egypt has far more to offer than just sand dunes. Here you will find the four “inner” oases of Bahariya, Farafra, Dakhla and Kharga which lie on “Great Desert Circle” stretching from Cairo to Assiut, and the Siwa Oasis near the Libyan Border, the Black Desert and the White Desert, huge mountain plateaus (as Gilf Kebir which alone is nearly the size of Switzerland), and the Great Sand Sea that is located between the Gilf Kebir and the Siwa Oasis.

Abut bedouin hotel

In central Cairo, near Talat Harb Square you will find area with many coffee shops and markets. This is place away from busy streets, here you can be a part of real egyptian life. In the middle of this area is located small and unique bedouin place, where you can relax and enjoy your staying in Cairo.
Welcome to Bedouin hostel.

We are located in first floor, on 4 Elwy Street, just behind the Central and National bank of Egypt. From here is just 5 minutes walking to Egyptian museum or American University. Near by are metro, bus and train stations.

Our hostel is simple, cheerful and cozy, where you can feel just like home. Bedouin Hostel is dedicated to everybody, families, groups, backpackers, adventurers or people who need peace and quiet. Because you are the only one who make atmosphere of our hostel.

We are bedouins from western desert and we bring some bedouin spirit also to our hostel. You can take a rest, chat with your friends or drink tea in special room which looks like Bedouin tent. And of course we didn't forget to bring with us also bedouin hospitality. That is way we give you all hot drinks for free. In common room you can have your breakfast, watching satellite tv or use computer. We have also small collection of books to read.

Rooms with towering ceilings are clean, painted in bright colors with small bedouin decoration. Every room has it's own bathroom with hot water and toilet, air condition, satellite tv and wifi. Beds are very comfortable with new mattresses, clean sheets and towels.

Our guests can use common kitchen to cook their own meals. We also have laundry machine if you need your clothes to be clean, but we charge extra money for this service.

FREE PICK UP FROM AIRPORT

If you book a room in our hostel for at least three nights in privet ensuite room , we can pick you up from Cairo International Airport for free. Just send us information about arrival of your plane and we will make sure you will safely come to us.
If you will stay with us less than three nights, we can also pick you up from airport. But we will charge 75 LE for this service.

Reception and travel desk in Bedouin Hostel are open 24 hours. We can also arrange trips in Cairo and other parts of Egypt. Because we are coming from desert, we are specialized for desert trips. After all, we can also provide you all travel informations that you need on your journey.

1 night in Bahariyya Oasis
1 night desert safari camp in the White Desert
Tour Details
Day 1:
• Depart from Cairo by bus to Bahariyya Oasis.
• Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your camp, for a free evening of relaxing.
Day 2:
• After breakfast, you will have a local tour of Bahariyya Oasis
Visiting the many therapeutic hot and cold springs, Black Mountain,
Gebel al Ingleez, Pyramid Mountain and the Oasis Museum.
• Leave for the White Desert for overnight camp.(SHARING TOUR)
Day 3:
• After breakfast you will visit the sand dunes, Swill Tomb, Black Mountains & Crystal Mountain before returning to Bahariyya.
• Afternoon : return bus to Cairo.

Tour Details:
You will be collected from the hotel at 9 pm to catch the 1st class train from Cairo at 10.00 pm
Day 1:
• Arrive at the train station in Aswan and be met by our representative who will transfer you to the selected 3 stars hotel (B&B).
• After check-in visit the High Dam & Philae Temple.
• Overnight at the hotel
Day 2:
• Check out of the hotel, check in to the cruise boat, and join a Felucca to visit Elephantine & Kitchener Islands.
• After lunch, begin to cruise toward Kom Ombo,by the way cruise is F.B.
• Overnight on the cruise
Day 3:
• Visit Kom Ombo Temple
• Overnight on board.
Day 4:
• Breakfast on board, and visit Edfu Temple.
• Transfer to minibus for the trip to Luxor. Check in to the 3-stars selected hotel with a swimming pool (B&B).
• After lunch, your guide will pick you up to visit the east bank: ( Karnak Temple & Luxor temple )
• Overnight in hotel
Day 5:
• After breakfast, check out of the hotel but leave your luggage in the reception and your guide will collect you to visit the west bank: ( Valley of the Kings & Valley of the Queens & Hatshepsut's Temple & Colossi of Memnon )

A very friendly and clean hostel situated downtown. I felt looked after and safe during my stay in Cairo. They organized a trip to the pyramides and to the white and black desert. I had a really great time and a cozy and friendly hostel. I will come back ;-)

I had a great stay in Cairo and at Bedouin Hostel. The staff was helpful, they arranged a trip to the Giza pyramides and to the white and black desert. The room was airy and clean. If i go back to Cairo I would definately stay at this hostel. Thank you for taking so good care of me ..
