¿Sabías que desde aquí Colón miró por última vez Europa? 🌊
San Sebastián fue el último puerto europeo de Colón antes de partir a América, el 6 de septiembre de 1492.
La ciudad conserva esa huella: la Casa de Colón (museo con arte precolombino) y la Torre del Conde, la fortaleza gótica más antigua de Canarias, donde también se alojaron Vespucio y Cortés.
Hoy, pasear por su casco antiguo es viajar al pasado sin prisas. Y cada 5 años, la Virgen de Guadalupe, patrona de La Gomera, es trasladada por mar. La próxima será en 2028.

The town preserves that legacy: the Casa de Colón (museum with pre‑Columbian art) and the Torre del Conde, the oldest Gothic fortress in the Canaries, where Vespucci and Cortés also stayed.
Today, strolling through its old town is like travelling back in time. And every 5 years, the Virgen de Guadalupe, patron saint of La Gomera, is carried by sea. The next one will be in 2028.

San Sebastián war Kolumbus’ letzter europäischer Hafen vor der Überfahrt nach Amerika, am 6. September 1492.
Die Stadt bewahrt diese Spuren: die Casa de Colón (Museum mit präkolumbianischer Kunst) und der Torre del Conde, die älteste gotische Festung der Kanaren, in der auch Vespucci und Cortés einkehrten.
Heute ist ein Spaziergang durch die Altstadt eine Zeitreise. Und alle 5 Jahre wird die Virgen de Guadalupe, Schutzpatronin La Gomeras, auf dem Seeweg gebracht. Das nächste Mal 2028.
