This is a simply stunning 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom reformed rural cortijo called Cortijo Billaura and it is located half way between Albox and Taberno. The area and location are big plus points to this home. The setting is typical rural Andalucia with rolling hills and mountains providing a scenic back drop with peace & quiet all around. The views are superb and a 360 pan around. The rural location a

nd setting is not at the sacrifice of amenities nearby either. A short drive (under 10 minutes) takes you back into the centre of Albox or Taberno. Albox is the much larger option with just about every daily amenity needed. You will find here a 24 hour medical centre, banks, bars, supermarkets, restaurants etc. Taberno offers daily basics also and a very friendly Spanish feel with lots of charm and character. Upon approach the property has a large open terrace to the front with elevated views and mature pretty gardens. There is plenty of off road parking here for many cars. To the rear of the house is a large fly free enclosure facing the pool area. A little wooden bridge then leads over to the huge heated pool, terrace and established / well kept gardens. The pool is 9x5m and has a wonderful open aspect with stunning views all around. To the right of the pool is a gazebo covered bar area with log burning stove for winter months too! Ideal to sit here in the shade on long summer days enjoying a cold drink watching family enjoy the heated pool! Sitting around the pool you feel in the middle of nowhere and the views are magnificent. All Bed linen and towels are provided, including beach towels

What a magnificent plant! I took the first picture just a few weeks ago, and look at it now! 😲 I’ll try to find out what it’s called but they are common here in Spain. Sadly, soon, it will completely die 😢, but visitors this summer should get to see it before it does. We shall try to replace it with one of the offshoots and see how long it takes to get to this stage again. I’m guessing the same 10-15 years it took this one to. A beauty to behold! 😃

Floral delights at Cortijo Billaura right now. Absolutely gorgeous. I was in the pool yesterday too! Last time until the refurb is done in May. Please share as there are still spaces for bookings. 5 bed/3 bath villa with pool in mountains. 45 mins inland & 10 mins from town, with local English bar & entertainment within walking distance (15 mins) an absolute joy for 2 families sharing. When are you coming back? 😜

Hi everyone! We are starting to take rentals for this year. Firstly though, the pool is being renovated so will have all fresh grouting and replaced tiles. Hopefully will be looking good as new. Will post pictures when it’s done. A great time to be thinking about summer hols- pretty cold and miserable in Blighty! 😄

Hi all you lovely followers. I'm AMAZED we don't have any bookings for half term. It is still warm (currently 27 degrees) and the pool will still be heated, So I'm going to REDUCE THE PEAK SEASON RATE to fill the slot and to help pay for those fares so that you can laze by the pool and get that last little bit of sun on your limbs before the winter.
