Dear friends,

After 30 wonderful years of running hotel California, the time has come for us to close this very special chapter.

We have officially sold the hotel!

Looking back, we feel nothing but gratitude.

What began as a small hotel project quickly became a place filled with friendships, returning faces, shared experiences and celebrations. Together we made countless unforgettable memories and experienced the highs and lows that life throws at us.

What started as a business quickly became a home - not only for us, but for so many of you. This meant more to us than we can ever express.

However, this is not a farewell. We are still very much around in Almuñécar - just in a slightly different way. For those of you who are still interested in coming here, just contact us personally, we will be happy to help with your holiday arrangements, albeit outside the hotel California setting.

So, while hotel California moves into new hands, our journey here continues, and we hope to welcome you here again, whether on the ground or in the air.

Thank you for your loyalty, your trust and your friendship over the past 30 years. Our journey at hotel California has truly been one of the greatest privileges of our lives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for sharing this journey with us……

Well to sum up a busy busy October and November. We started off with a group of French pilots then some German pilots followed by a group of Dutch pilots and to finish off we had the British forces paragliding services. Intense but rewarding to see so many pilots in the air around our flying sites.

A good start for beginning of the flying season as we (Ken, Wallis, Tony and Alan) managed to fly every day for their holiday. Challenging conditions sometimes especially with the forever more “interesting” weather/wind forecasts nowadays….. well done Alan on your black badge.

Back from driving/guiding with Romain in Slovenia (unfortunately it was a bit of a wash out this year but that's paragliding) and tandem flying in Samoens France (which was less bumpy than last year) with the Tonstons Volants. As Phil Jerry and Wyatt arrived first they squeezed in a Herradura soaring flight before Martin and Clive arrived at the HC in the evening. The next day we went to Mancha Real (near Pegalajar) to fly and watch the PWC from the air and ground. The following 3 days it was first a bumpy Cenes flight and then a smooth Itrabo flight to the beach for beer and tapas....

Alan was the first to arrive. Then Ken, Wallis Tony and finally Neil joined the flying group. They flew everyday and what a 10 days it was indeed. They flew the usual stuff Cenes, Otivar to La Herradura and La Herradura. But 3 days stood out especially. A wave day at La Herradura. A XC flight to Pico del Veleta and the ski station “Sol y Nieve” at 3500m and an XC flight to Pico del Cielo at 2600m. Good times!!

Ralph and Hilla had 5 days of flying fun. An O2H flight on the first day then a day at Cenes de La Vega the south face. An Itrabo day and 2 La Herradura days. Lots of other pilots around made it easier to spot the thermals but made flying at La Herradura a bit more tricky.

The weather conditions this week were rather tricky for flying (wind or rain - wind and rain) so finding suitable site was difficult. Alan and I had to drive to Castala to fly on the first day where he managed 40 minutes in thermals. Yesterday was a chill out day and today we decided to go to Cenes de La Vega as a strong northerly higher up is making flying difficult fly anywhere else.
