A good day out from Casa Almendros de Maroma can be had by combining a visit to the Presa del Limonero (https://www.viajamalaga.com/parque-la-concepcion-y-presa-del-limonero/) and the Botanical Gardens (https://www.spain-holiday.com/Malaga-city/articles/a-walk-through-malagas-botanical-and-historical-gardens).
The Presa del Limonero is a park next to the Concepcion reservoir. It is possible to have a picnic here and walk around the beautiful reservoir with great views to the Montes de Malaga. Next to the Presa del Limonero are the Botanical Gardens. Entrance is free on a Sunday afternoon and you can enjoy walking round the magnificent gardens with great views towards Malaga. It is difficult to believe at times that the A45 motorway is only a few hundred metres away!

We have had several sightings of eagles this week above Casa Almendros de Maroma. One morning there were four circling around the villa and although we failed to catch them on film at the same time we did manage to get a few seconds of this one flying in front of us.

So much more to Malaga than the airport. It's a beautiful city full of fascinating narrow pedestrianised streets full of tapas bars and shops. Plenty of museums to keep you occupied and then there is the Alcazabar, Castillo de Gibralfaro, Cathedral, Roman Ampitheatre, port and the Malaga big wheel.

A dip in the pool at Casa Almendros de Maroma and a glass of chilled rose wine would be just the ticket on a hot summer's evening! Sadly, stuck in muggy England so will have to dream! 🌞🍷⛱️

On a really hot day why not escape the sun for a couple of hours by exploring the beautiful caves at Nerja? After you've finished exploring, why not continue with a walk up the Rio Chillar if you still need to cool down!
