If it is a break away from the hustle and bustle ofeveryday life then this is the location for you. The photographs cannot convey the peace and tranquillity of this hilltop location where the sounds of the birds (occasionally and eagle) circling above are the only interruptions to the peace and quiet while taking a dip in your own private pool. You may occasionally have a visit from one of the wild tortoises or rabbits. There are plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding areas of natural beauty including the Cabo de Gata, natural park only 30 minutes away or if you want something with a bit more culture and history the city of Granada is a couple of hours away with extensive cosmopolitan bars and restaurants and historical sites such as the magnificent Alhambra or the city of Almeria also with extensive shopping and historical places of interest but if you just want to stay close to home then the beaches and seafront bars in Mojacar and Garrucha are just a mere 15 minutes’ drive away. Bedar village also has a handful of restaurants and bars, a village supermarket, bank and pharmacy. If you enjoy wondering around markets then there is a market nearly everyday: Heurcal Overa – Monday; Los Garllardos – Tuesday; Mojacar – Wednesday; Garrucha or Turre – Friday; Vera – Saturday and there is a Rastro market in Mojacar old village on a Sunday morning where you can purchase anything from Spanish bric a brac to handmade jewellery. Mojacar old town is an engaging beautiful hillside white washed authentic Spanish destination with cobbled streets and Moorish appearance. The coastal Mojacar has 17 kilometers of unspoilt beaches with play areas for children, bars and restaurants all along the seafront. The seafront areas have been extensively landscaped and rejuvenated over recent years. Both Almeria and Murcia airports are easily accessible. Almeria airport is a mere 40 minutes drive away and Murcia is just over an hour away with an easy motorway drive taking you directly to the area. There are budget airlines flying into both airports on a regular basis throughout the summer. You will be provided with a detailed map of the location when you book giving directions and landmarks.

Just been for an evening swim. October is one of the best months here in Bedar. Still using the pool and the weather is superb. And just watched the sun going down. What could be better.

Why not take a break in October. Bedar temperatures in October are around 25 degrees and flights can be as little £60 return. The pool is still warm after the summer hot temperatures. My favourite time of the year.
