Going away alone or with a dear friend, even if only for a few days, is an act of self-care that has been proven to improve wellbeing and make us better parents and partners.

For every parent, the right time to do this is different. Some start travelling without their children very early on, while others need a little longer to feel ready (like me).

One thing I can say for sure: once I started seeing solo trips or getaways with friends as a way to truly recharge as a parent, I made sure to prioritise them more often.

A few years ago, after my first momcation with Sandra Theumann, we started offering different “momcation” (and “dadcation”) packages in destinations such as Ibiza, Austria, France and Bali - giving parents the chance to unwind and recharge, either alone or together with friends.

Throwback to our unforgettable summer stay in the Maldives last August! 🌊

We had the chance to experience four incredibly beautiful and very different family-friendly resorts, each one truly special in its own way. ✨

Feeling so grateful for these memories that we’ll cherish forever. 🙏🏽

August is actually a wonderful time to visit the Maldives: it’s shoulder season, so rates are often much better than during peak periods. We also had amazing weather with very little rain and when it did rain, it felt refreshing and pleasant. ☀️

Sandra Theumann has been part of The Little Voyager team for almost 7 years now, and when we talk about how we met, we always say: “we simply found each other.”�A mom of two lovely kids, she has Colombian, Austrian & Czech roots, grew up in Brazil, studied in Spain & Australia, and lived in Germany before moving to Barcelona in 2019. She’s an exceptional travel designer, a wonderful colleague, and a dear friend. 💛

Located only about 25 minutes from Tenerife South airport, the Ritz Carlton Abama is a beautiful & family-friendly five-star Moorish-style resort located on the lush Guia de Isora.✨

The hotel features 459 hotel rooms, suites & villas, a golf resort with par-72 course, a secluded beach accessed via a funicular, 7 outdoor swimming pools including a baby & a family pool (all heated at approx. 25C), 8 restaurants plus 2 bars, a beautiful spa and the Ritz Kids club suitable for 4 to 12 year olds.

Toddlers (age 3 and under) can also spend time at the Kids Club in company of their care giver or the hotel can arrange babysitters if required.👌🏽
