The Little Voyager

The Little Voyager offers stress-free family holidays Travelling with a young family can be tricky. We know because we’ve been there.

We’ve booked the so called ‘family-friendly’ house or hotel only to find the pool is not fenced in, the staircase is a hazard, or the photos bear little resemblance to the reality. But it doesn’t have to be that way! Family holidays can and should be fun and stress-free and, if you choose the right places to stay, need not mean sacrificing style. On our travels we have found a number of accommodations that have been both beautifully designed and equipped specifically with young families in mind; places that are not only genuinely child-friendly, but where parents will also enjoy comfortable, fashionable surroundings. To be included on The Little Voyager every hotel or rental home we list must meet our strict criteria. We therefore personally inspect every place we list to make sure it meets our high standards. This means we offer a small, but carefully curated choice of stylish, well run accommodations that we can recommend with complete confidence. We charge no commission or booking fee, so making your reservation through us costs you no more than if you browsed the internet looking through all the possibilities yourself and booked direct with the owners. Please feel free to contact us anytime. We promise to offer a very personal, friendly and attentive service.

The Little Voyager team is reunited again, and we couldn’t be happier to have Dora Szoke with us in Barcelona this week! 💙

Born and raised in Hungary, Dora brings years of experience in the hotel industry and has called Athens home since 2017.
We started out as work partners, quickly became friends and now we’re colleagues - proof that the best teams are built on laughter, trust, and a shared passion for what we do. ✨
As a mom to a three-year-old, she brings not only her industry expertise but also real-life parenting experience to help families plan truly unforgettable trips. 👶✈️

And then there’s Sandra Theumann, who has been part of The Little Voyager team for over seven years. When we talk about how we met, we always say: “We simply found each other.” 💛

A mom of two wonderful kids, Sandra has Colombian, Austrian & Czech roots, grew up in Brazil, studied in Spain & Australia, and lived in Germany before making Barcelona her home in 2019.
She’s an exceptional travel designer, a wonderful colleague, and a dear friend.

I couldn’t be happier or more grateful to have these two amazing women by my side.

Here’s to teamwork, friendship, shared adventures and creating unforgettable journeys for families around the world.

If you’re dreaming of a trip to the Maldives and are looking for the perfect winter escape, we collaborate with many different resorts (including romantic escapes for couples) and can offer very competitive rates. 🌴

A few weeks ago my dear colleague spent 4 nights at our beautiful and family-friendly partner property Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon with her husband and two children (9 & 11).
And they had a blast! ❤️

They especially enjoyed the…

🏔️ Amazing mountain location (with tons of activities right outside the property)
💦 Pools & slides for the kids (fun for the adults too!)
🍽️ Delicious food
🧖‍♀️ Beautiful adults-only spa for the parents (and a family sauna too)
🤸‍♀️ Plenty of activities and freedom for children
❤️ And a genuinely warm, attentive team

And it’s not just a summer destination!
The hotel is also a very nice choice in winter, with the cable car right next to the property, making it incredibly easy to head straight up the mountain and enjoy the snow. ⛷️❄️

If you are looking for a family getaway where children have fun and parents get to relax too, we’d love to tell you more and help you plan your stay there! ✈️🏔️

From one mum with a dream to a team of passionate travel experts. ✈️

About 12 years ago, a rather disastrous holiday with my 11-month-old son inspired me to create The Little Voyager. My vision was simple: to help families enjoy stress-free, unforgettable holidays in beautiful, family-friendly destinations.

Today, we're a family travel agency (not a travel blog 😉), offering expert, personalised travel planning, the best available prices and our service completely free of charge. We work directly with trusted travel partners, so you never pay extra for booking with us.✨

What makes me most proud isn't just how much we've grown, but the incredible women I get to call my team. Together we speak 6 languages (🇪🇸 🇬🇧 🇩🇪 🇭🇺 🇬🇷 🇵🇹), helping families from all over the world plan holidays they'll truly enjoy.

Every one of us is a mum, bringing not only travel expertise but also real-life parenting experience. Different strengths, one shared vision and a genuine passion for making family travel easier.

To every family who has trusted us with their holidays over the years—thank you. We couldn't do this without you. 🩷

This is our fifth time here, and there’s nowhere else we’ve returned to this many times. I think that says it all. 💕

If you have any questions or would like to book your family holiday here, feel free to get in touch anytime.

Now is a great time to pre-book an autumn stay or secure your holiday for next year, as this place fills up quickly.🙌🏽

Have a lovely weekend ahead!✨

Someone asked me recently how many kids’ clubs I’ve visited since the beginning of The Little Voyager... and it made me realise just how many children’s spaces we’ve seen around the world…👶👧

Some have been incredibly beautiful and thoughtfully designed, while others have been a little less inviting. The variety is truly remarkable and my children have always been the best testers.😊

Here are a few of my favourite kids’ clubs I’ve come across over the years. ✨

Which one is your favourite? Or have you discovered a hidden gem that deserves to be on this list? I’d love to hear your recommendations! 💛

Today I'm excited to share that The Little Voyager is now offering a brand-new destination: Japan! 🏯🇯🇵

My dear colleague Sandra Theumann recently embarked on this incredible long-haul adventure during the Easter holidays with her husband and their two children (aged 9 and 11), having the best family holiday ever.🙌🏽

Their kids’ Easter school break
coincided perfectly with cherry blossom season and even though spring in Japan can be rainy, the
occasional wet day didn’t disrupt their plans. 🍒

From the vibrant energy of Tokyo and Osaka to the tranquility of a traditional tea ceremony, where they dressed in beautiful kimonos, and the deeply moving experience of visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, every moment left a lasting impression.

Exploring such a fascinating and different culture together as a family is truly priceless and it's a journey they'll never forget. 🙏🏽

If you're dreaming of a trip to Japan, we’d love to help. We work with trusted local partners, can share our personal hotel recommendations and help you create your own unforgettable Japanese adventure. ✨
