Castaween at the Chocolate Museum

The sweetest fusion of La Castanyada and Halloween comes to the Museu de la Xocolata. Over two weekends, the museum offers three family workshops with a terrifyingly creative twist: Xoco Trencadís, Artistes de la Xocolata Castaween, Castaween Lollipops, and Castaween Cookie Decorating. Each session combines play, learning, and plenty of imagination with cocoa and monsters. Plus, admission to the museum is included with the workshop.

Ciutat Flamenco is a music festival that will feature performances by great flamenco artists such as José Maldonado, Víctor Franco, and Lorena Oliva. It will also host Ciutat Batalla, a competition for new talent in this art form, and the recording of a podcast.

Barcelona Design Week is a must-attend event for design, creativity, and innovation organized by the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation. More than 100 activities—including exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops, and open houses—will take place across various venues throughout the city, led by the Disseny Hub Barcelona. This year’s theme is “Barcelona in pro-test mode, ” which highlights how design is a space for experimentation, dialogue, and movement—not a fixed answer.

Most events are free but require advance registration.

The Cavalcade of La Mercé
Perhaps one of the most eagerly awaited events is the Cavalcade of La Mercé, tomorrow 24 September along Passeig de Gràcia. It features dragons, giants and little devils who also throw fire.
It is a spectacle where sparks and light fly among the spectators during the night in Barcelona. This parade is popularly known as "correfoc" (the race of fire).

The Barceloneta festivities 25 septembre - 4th october.
This neighbourhood has a seafaring origin that it has maintained over the years and also during its celebration. For example, a very important and valuable event is the Habaneras, musical compositions that came from Cuba and were brought by the many sailors who stayed in the neighbourhood.

Every night concerts are organised and, to accompany them, rum cremat (a drink based on rum with spices, heated by fire, which the fishermen drank in the morning to escape the cold) is served.

For the first time, official festival programming will reach all 10 districts of Barcelona.Shanghai is the guest city this year, bringing traditional cultural performances and articulated dragons to the Fòrum area.
