Situated right in the middle the old town, you could not possibly wish for a more central location in Barcelona. The Gothic quarter is one of the most beautiful areas in the whole of Barcelona, with its rich past dating back to the Roman period. This historic “Barrio” offers a multitude of cultural places, such as the remains of the Roman city, the Jewish quarter with its original buildings from the 12th century, the Plaza Real with its palm trees, fountain, terraces and lamp posts designed by Antoni Gaudi. Naturally no visit to Barcelona is complete without seeing the majestic gothic Cathedral, the stunning Palau de Musica or if that is not enough for you, there is also the Liceo opera house and the magnificent Palau Guell designed by Gaudi. For the art lovers this part of the city has an abundance of museums, with exhibitions from contemporary artists, but also from the internationally renowned Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and Frederic Mares. All of these attractions and even more are less than five minutes from your front door. While Barcelona is steeped in history and culture let’s not forget its contrasting side, some of the liveliest night life in Europe, fashionable boutiques and a plethora of restaurants serving some of the finest cuisine anywhere to be found. The nearest beach, La Barceloneta, is walking distance, but if you would like to explore others, there is a metro stop (yellow line – L1) just a stone’s throw away from the apartment. The metro station on the Rambla (green line – L3) will take you directly to FC Barcelona’s world famous stadium the “Camp Nou”. If you are renting a car, there are various public parking spots nearby.
