On this new rule from Airbnb ??

After 10 years of hosting, & listing on other platforms we sometimes feel people forget one important thing… Airbnb doesn’t own our caves WE DO

Behind every listing is a real person, a small business, and a lot of hard work.

We’ve always told guests, You’re on holiday, don’t strip the beds that’s our job and we mean this 🛌

We don’t expect guests to clean, but surely washing your own dishes and taking rubbish to the bins isn’t too much to ask?

Thankfully, most of our guests have always been respectful.

With all the changes happening, we are wonder whether Airbnb is still the right platform for us ?

That’s why we love direct bookings

You deal directly with us, who own and care the cave,giving you that personal touch while supporting our little independent business.

We’re not just a listing on a website we’re real people, with our own property and a genuine love for what we do.

Always when you can book direct, stay personal & save money on the fees they charge 💶

Tonight’s Pool Vibes 🥂

There’s something extra special about enjoying the pool and hot tub at this time of year!

Although our pool officially closes on 1st October, as we still have guests staying, we’re leaving it up to our guests if they want to swim 🏊‍♀️

Cooler evenings, warm bubbles in the hot tub, and a dip in the pool… what better way to unwind and enjoy your weekend 🥂

Another amazing meal at Hotel La Alcanacia

The food, service and location were just incredible everything was absolutely perfect.

Such a beautiful setting, delicious food and fantastic service.

Only 15 minutes away from Cuevas Helena Holidays through the Olive Groves 🫒making it the perfect spot for a special meal while staying with us or just visiting the area we highly recommend you visit here 🙌

Delighted with our new floaties 💦🌴🍹

As much as we love all the kids floaties, the kids they are all put away now until next year so it’s lovely to finally have some adult floaties for us 💦😎☀️

And with the weather still absolutely glorious and looking set to stay this way for the next few weeks, we’ll definitely be making the most of those pool days 🌴

What a fantastic family day we had at Hotel La Alcanacia

We had the most amazing meal and honestly couldn’t fault a thing. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the location over looking Lake Negratin ☀️

Everyone absolutely raved about the food. Every dish was delicious from start to finish and the presentation was amazing.

They were also excellent with their gluten-free options for my daughter in law which made the experience even more enjoyable and stress-free for our family.

The staff, who were wonderful with our granddaughters Florence & Annie 💕💕

Even Mini enjoyed her steak 🥩 🐾they made us all feel so welcome 😀

This is definitely somewhere we will return to and a place we would highly recommend to our guests.

It’s not often you find somewhere that ticks every box fantastic food, excellent service, a beautiful location 👌

❤️ Thank you to everyone who has contacted us to check we’re okay they thought we were in the cave which is ok as it’s 119km away .

We’re currently in Granada for a 2-night stay while we have guests at the cave ,and unfortunately we experienced the earthquake today at 10.37am followed by 4/5 tremors 🥲

We were having a coffee when the ground suddenly started shaking and the tables and pergolas were moving it was scary people were screaming including myself 🥲 we ran to an open space with the tourists and locals .

We can’t leave yet as our car is in an underground car park and they’ve had debris and it’s tapped off .

We’re both okay, just shaken, and have never felt anything like it 🥲

Things are finally calming down again, and after the shock of today, no more tremors for the past few hours 🤞

I don’t think we’ve ever felt more deserving of a w**e and a beer🍷🍺

The sky isn’t blue today, and it’s much cooler, but it’s the perfect temperature for the procession. Much better than walking in 40°C

What a great eclipse experience with our wonderful guests 🌘

Unfortunately, we couldn’t get our hands on any eclipse glasses, so we well our guests improvised with a Lidl cornflakes box and a colander 😂

At least the paper we used was recycled British Airways boarding passes✈️

It may not have been the setup we’d planned, but it certainly made for plenty of laughs.

Now we’re having a Pizza night & our own guitarist playing for us 🎸

This is us supporting Spain back in 2010 😂 and what an amazing night we had in our old village San Cayetano look forward to the final on Sunday in Benamaurel 🇪🇸
