What a fantastic family day we had at Hotel La Alcanacia

We had the most amazing meal and honestly couldn’t fault a thing. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the location over looking Lake Negratin ☀️

Everyone absolutely raved about the food. Every dish was delicious from start to finish and the presentation was amazing.

They were also excellent with their gluten-free options for my daughter in law which made the experience even more enjoyable and stress-free for our family.

The staff, who were wonderful with our granddaughters Florence & Annie 💕💕

Even Mini enjoyed her steak 🥩 🐾they made us all feel so welcome 😀

This is definitely somewhere we will return to and a place we would highly recommend to our guests.

It’s not often you find somewhere that ticks every box fantastic food, excellent service, a beautiful location 👌

❤️ Thank you to everyone who has contacted us to check we’re okay they thought we were in the cave which is ok as it’s 119km away .

We’re currently in Granada for a 2-night stay while we have guests at the cave ,and unfortunately we experienced the earthquake today at 10.37am followed by 4/5 tremors 🥲

We were having a coffee when the ground suddenly started shaking and the tables and pergolas were moving it was scary people were screaming including myself 🥲 we ran to an open space with the tourists and locals .

We can’t leave yet as our car is in an underground car park and they’ve had debris and it’s tapped off .

We’re both okay, just shaken, and have never felt anything like it 🥲

Things are finally calming down again, and after the shock of today, no more tremors for the past few hours 🤞

I don’t think we’ve ever felt more deserving of a wine and a beer🍷🍺

The sky isn’t blue today, and it’s much cooler, but it’s the perfect temperature for the procession. Much better than walking in 40°C

What a great eclipse experience with our wonderful guests 🌘

Unfortunately, we couldn’t get our hands on any eclipse glasses, so we well our guests improvised with a Lidl cornflakes box and a colander 😂

At least the paper we used was recycled British Airways boarding passes✈️

It may not have been the setup we’d planned, but it certainly made for plenty of laughs.

Now we’re having a Pizza night & our own guitarist playing for us 🎸

A very late-night arrival for our guests tonight🌙

They were due to arrive at 6pm, but sadly their first flight was cancelled ✈️

They’ve only just landed into Málaga and still have the 2.5-hour drive ahead, so they won’t arrive until around 2:30am.

Thankfully, they’ve stayed with us before, so they know exactly where they’re going. The lights are on, the gates are open, and the key box is ready for their self check-in. We’ll see them in the morning after a well-deserved rest 🛌

🎶 10:00 PM – Party with DJ Dany featuring Musical Bingo, raffles, and lots of great music!

🗓 Saturday, 15th August
🙏 10:30 AM – Procession in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, accompanied by the Rociero Choir Entre Dos Ríos from Castilléjar and the Pisando Fuerte Brass Band, followed by Mass.
🎈 7:30 PM – Children’s games
🎤 11:00 PM – Spectacular Mecano tribute show and an 80s & 90s tribute by Rachel Santos, followed by DJ Dany.
🎉 Musical Bingo, raffles, and bouncy castles for the children throughout the evening.

🗓 Sunday, 16th August
🥘 2:00 PM – Grand Paella (€3 contribution)
🙏 8:00 PM – Procession of Our Lady of Carmen
🎶 Afterwards, enjoy the closing party with DJ Dany, plus bingo, raffles, and bouncy castles throughout the evening.

Come along and enjoy a wonderful community festival with music, tradition, great food, and entertainment for all ages. We look forward to seeing you there! 🎊

🇪🇸⚽️This Tuesday, July 14th, at 9:00 PM, the Baza City Council invites everyone to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup Semi-Final between Spain 🇪🇸 and France 🇫🇷 together⚽️🇪🇸

📍 Plaza Mayor
A giant screen will be set up so you can enjoy the match with fellow fans and, hopefully, celebrate Spain’s place in the World Cup Final

⚽️And if Spain qualifies for the final, the giant screen will be set up again ⚽️
