Rancho Rustico nestles amongst the rolling foothills of the stunning Montes de Málaga natural park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Play beach tennis on our elevated multipurpose sandy court. Beach tennis is a lively and entertaining type of tennis suitable for all ages and abilities, usually played as a game of doubles. The court can be used for other games such as badminton. There are numerous easy to moderate walking trails surrounding the site which are also ideal for running and cycling. These trails offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. We have an enthusiastic guide who can lead walks both locally and further afield. There are many other mountain ranges and coastal walks within easy reach. Our huge outdoor fitness area provides further opportunities for running and cycling. It has an area for suspension training alongside a set of free weights. An obstacle/assault course will soon be completed. There are two thrilling zip wires, one of which crosses a dramatic gorge. There is a chill out zone for practicing tai chi, yoga and Pilates type activities, where you can also meditate, relax and contemplate the wonderful views. Each week begins with a sports/games session when we get to know each other. We welcome your suggestions. How about a three-legged or wheelbarrow race? We have a permanent orienteering course and you can take part in an intriguing treasure hunt. Prizes awarded for flair and finishing first, perhaps a bottle of beer/wine, or something more surprising. We have an onsite masseur with fifteen years experience who can offer Thai yoga massage, sports massage or a deep tissue massage. Thai yoga massage is practiced through clothes. It is a system of massage and manipulation developed in the East over thousands of years which leaves you in a state of sublime relaxation. Horse riding lessons and trekking, on Spanish Andalucían horses, available at a local ranch at reasonable cost. This area is a real paradise for equestrian enthusiasts, having boundless mountain tracks, unfenced countryside, and the sandy shoreline of the Comendador river to explore. There are opportunities to go Predator paintballing, on buggy safari with quads or 4X4 jeeps, cave kayaking, windsurfing, and diving/snorkeling in the Med. We serve a range of English and Mediterranean dishes from our authentic Spanish bar and restaurant, which has an outdoor seating area with fabulous views of the surrounding hills. We always strive to use locally sourced produce, including freshly caught fish. Our menus are adjusted to reflect the passing seasons. Barbecues are our speciality. Our bar is stocked with local beers and wines, and a plentiful selection of soft drinks, cocktails, and spirits to suit all tastes. Wheatgrass smoothies made from seasonal fruits energise, revitalise, and provide a super healthy alternative. Vegetarians are welcome. Entertainment can be arranged for the evenings. Options include Flamenco lessons, Moroccan themed evenings, live music and Spanish wine tasting.
