There’s something rather lovely about seeing Finca La Vida through our guests’ eyes. 🤍

Darvin & Jan came to The Studio for a few days of peace, quiet and switching off — and left us these lovely words (and some rather fabulous photographs):

“Everything in and around the studio was made with so much love. It’s super quiet and perfect for a few days of calm and switching off.

The animals are a lovely bonus on top, the donkeys are so cute and absolutely love a cuddle. 🫏

Samantha and Clifford were super friendly, open to helping with anything we needed, and just lovely people!

Would highly recommend for some proper time off!”

“We’ll be back (that’s not a threat)” 😂

Quite possibly one of our favourite endings to a review.

Helen and her family came to stay at the Guest House for two weeks and very quickly became part of life here — pool days, trips out, cats, dogs, donkeys and everything in between.

And as if this incredible review wasn’t enough, Helen left us the most wonderful drawing of our donkeys — which of course had to make it into this post. 🫏✏️🤍

Thank you Helen & family. We loved having you here and will very happily take you up on that threat! 😂

We couldn’t ask for a better review — they found the peace, explored the beaches and restaurants, made friends with the animals and even gave the sourdough their seal of approval 🍞

Well, this was rather lovely to receive ❤️

Sometimes a guest describes Finca La Vida in a way that makes us see it through fresh eyes again.

Sarah & Sue came for a holiday and completely embraced life here — long peaceful evenings, the pool, the views, our animals wandering by and, of course, the donkeys making sure nobody forgot they were here! 😂

We put so much of ourselves into this place, so reading that they found exactly the peace and privacy we hope our guests will find meant a lot.

And the best bit…

Some guests arrive looking for adventure. Others arrive looking for stillness.

Katherine and Jorge arrived after spending time on a yoga retreat, and it feels rather special that they chose to continue that slower pace of life here at Finca La Vida.

Our little Studio isn’t about luxury in the traditional sense. It’s about waking with the sun, sitting quietly with a coffee overlooking the mountains, watching our rescue donkeys graze, saying hello to the dogs as you wander past, and ending the day beneath a sky full of stars.

Sometimes, that’s exactly what the soul needs.

The Life We’re Building

We’re Sam & Clifford, and this is the life we’re building together.

It’s a life that’s constantly evolving, shaped by the land we call home, the people we meet, the animals we care for, and a shared curiosity that keeps leading us in new directions.

One day you might find us welcoming guests to Finca La Vida, the next caring for our dogs, cats and rescue donkeys, baking sourdough, studying herbal medicine, tending the land, growing Barchal, or simply watching the sun set behind the mountains.

At the heart of it all is a love of creating - beautiful experiences, meaningful connections and a life that reflects the things we value most.

We’re learning that living here isn’t simply about owning a piece of land; it’s about becoming part of it.

When we first arrived, we had a vision. But with every season, every sunrise, every challenge and every new discovery, that vision continues to evolve. The more we understand this extraordinary place, the more it shapes our dreams.

We’re learning from the land, the changing seasons, the wildlife and the people we meet. But perhaps most of all, we’re learning from each other. Every new project and every challenge strengthens not only what we’re creating, but our partnership too.

Our roots grow a little deeper each year, and so do our dreams. Alongside Finca La Vida and Barchal, we hope to one day share workshops, continue gently evolving the land, and create even more opportunities for people to reconnect with nature, creativity and a slower way of living.

We don’t have every step mapped out, and we rather like it that way. We’re simply enjoying the journey and looking forward to whatever comes next.
