There is a fantastic choice of walking in Las Alpujarras and trekking days in the Sierra Nevada. Exclusive days out, both on the lower hills of Las Alpujarras and the white villages or take to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada which hosts the highest mountain in mainland Spain "Mulhacen". In winter there is also a choice of mountaineering, skiing and the amazing sport of snow shoeing. There is also a choice of climbing and scrambling throughout the year. Horse Riding
A unique horse riding centre is home to over 15 horses, mostly Andalucian bred. Situated up in the Lanjaron valley of Caballo Blanco, there are numerous trails rides, horse riding lessons and hour/day hacks that the whole family can enjoy. The rides pass through the diverse land of Las Alpujarras from pine forests and alpine meadows, wooded valleys and gorges, to almond, olive and orange groves. Many say it is the best way to get the views of this diverse landscape. 2 hour treks start from €35 or take a full day trek for €85 per person including lunch.
Birdwatching
A unique birdwatching experience. Enjoyed by both bird scientists and nature lovers. Andalucia hosts one of Europe's most spectacular bird life. Las Alpujarras is home to many types of birds including the Griffin Vulture and Bee Eaters. Just to name a few are Golden and Bonelli´s Eagles that are joined by large numbers of Booted and Short-toed Eagles as they return from their wintering grounds in Africa. A days birdwatching is priced at €85 a day or half days from €45 per person.
