Las Dalias Hippie Market: One of the most iconic and famous hippie markets in Ibiza, Las Dalias is located in the village of San Carlos. It's open year-round on Saturdays and during the summer on Monday and Tuesday evenings as well. You can find a wide range of goods, including clothing, accessories, home décor, and more. Punta Arabí Hippy Market: Located in Es Canar, this market is held every Wednesday during the summer season. It's one of the largest and oldest hippie markets in Ibiza, offering an extensive array of products from different cultures, including clothing, jewelry, art, and crafts.

Why 8 of August is a special day in Ibiza? You may know, that this day, annually, we can witness big fireworks in Dalt Villa. Not so many of us knows WHY. Let’s dive into a history a bit.
The latter commemorates the Catalan conquest of Ibiza from the Moors in 1235. According to legend, the little chapel situated in the cobbled streets of Ibiza Old Town, is the very spot where the Catalan soldiers first entered the Arab citadel and the conquest of the island by King Jaime I began. The chapel was, therefore, named after Saint Ciriaco, the Patron Saint who is honoured in the ecclesiastic calendar on 8th August - the day of the conquest.

But along with historical facts, there is also room for traditions and legends of all kinds. THE LEGEND that has taken root the most in the Ibizan people and that has lasted to this day says that: this fall of the town was caused by the betrayal of a brother of the Moorish caudillo or sheikh, as revenge for the latter having stolen his wife. He "took advantage -according to the chroniclers- of a window that his house had that faced the outside of the wall to let the troops of the besiegers pass."

After midday mass in the chapel, the celebrations continue on the streets of Dalt Vila and Ibiza Town, with processions of people in traditional Ibicenco costume, festivities in the park, exhibitions, concerts and theatrical performances.
