Time and Space is an iconic art installation, created by the renowned artist John McCrae. Located at the cliff edge in the secluded bay of Calla Llentia and crafted from imported basalt stone from Turkey. The stones are arranged to symbolise the solar system, with the central, largest pillar topped in gold to represent the sun. Surrounding this are smaller columns, each representing a planet orbiting the sun, positioned according to the Fibonacci sequence. The monumental size of the installation makes it awe-inspiring at any time of day, but it takes on even greater significance during the island’s renowned sunsets, when the dramatic sky amplifies the sculpture’s profound presence.
