“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get”, said Forrest (quoting his mom, actually).
We welcomed our first guests on July 27th 2015, and ten years on we’re perplexed and fascinated in equal measure by everything that’s transpired during that time. The search for slowness was a driving force behind our decision to uproot and take a plunge into the unknown, but slowness, as it turns out, is one of many flavors not in our chocolate box. It’s said that life begins at the end of your comfort zone. In order to grow you have step outside of the comfort zone; or something to that effect.
Well, literally and figuratively speaking; ten years of permanent residency in alien territory is a long time. Not sure how much more personal growth there is to be gained for us at this point. We would certainly welcome a larger presence of serenity, consistency and predictability, but we’re not counting on it though.
We’ll plough ahead as that seems to be our default mode. But for another 10 years? Unlikely, but stranger things have happened. Stay tuned. Warm regards, Elin & Erik.
