We’ve been a bit quiet on here lately, but for a very good reason... we’ve been completely lost in the view!✨

The sun is shining, the olive trees are rustling, and that signature Mediterranean light is doing its magic across the grounds today. We are stepping away from the paintbrushes for just a second to appreciate how peaceful this corner of Lorca truly is 🧘‍♂️

It’s hitting 26°C today and we’re chasing the shade! ☀️ ​We’re officially burying the "clown blue" paint under crisp white and traditional Spanish ochre. Mark is currently on the ridge (look for the red arrow!) finishing off the architectural details.

It’s only early March, but our almond trees are already onto their next chapter. After a gorgeous flourish of blossom, the petals are drifting away to reveal these fuzzy green nubs, our young drupes 🌸➡️🥜 There’s something so peaceful about watching the landscape transform under the warm Murcian sun ☀️

Note to self: Never visit me during a renovation! 😂 A massive shoutout to my brother and niece for their hard graft last week. Instead of sun loungers, they got sledgehammers to help make the opening for our new log burner flue 🪵🔥

It’s all part of the "tinkering" to get Rezen cozy for those crisp Spanish nights (now passing btw) 🇪🇸✨ Would you trust your siblings with a power tool in your house? 🛠️👀

15 Years, two countries, and one incredible adventure 🇪🇸👬

They say time flies when you’re having fun, but when you’re building a dream in the Spanish sun, it feels like we’ve pulled a supersonic jet move! ✈️💨

Looking at these two photos side-by-side, from two little ones wrapped in towels to the teenagers standing with Pete's mum this week, it hit us! It has been 15 years since we first became a family through adoption. What a wild, beautiful ride it’s been.

The "ReZen" Effect 🏠✨ Moving the boys to the plains of Lorca was the biggest "tinkering" project we’ve ever taken on. Whether it’s navigating local Sunday markets, dodging "sweet-tasting" police stops, or discovering that white bread is the secret to cleaning almost anything - they’ve taken it all in their stride.

They’ve traded rainy UK afternoons for "solico" and the slow, beautiful rhythm of Murcia ☀️🧺 While our eldest is currently back in the UK making us proud from afar, seeing the younger boys here with their Grandma is a reminder of exactly why we’re building REZEN.VILLAS.

❤️🛠️ We aren't just renovating; we’re building a home and a future for our boys. We want to show them that with a bit of hard graft, a lot of laughter, and the right people by your side, you can turn any "jodío" situation into a masterpiece 🌈🏗️

Adoption gave us a family. Spain gave us a dream. And these last 15 years? They gave us the best adventure we could have ever asked for 🥂✨ Here’s to the next 15 years of tinkering, laughing, and living the dream 😎

It has been so special having Pete’s mum here visiting us in the sun this week. Looking at her here with our boys, it’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years since we first started our adoption journey.

What an incredible adventure it has been. From those first days as a new family to building our dream here in the Costa Cálida, time has truly flown! 🏡🇪🇸 These are the moments that make all the hard graft worth it. 🛠️❤️
