The Beach House Mar Menor

We have been extremely lazy keeping this page updated. Apologies. Almost all our guests are introduced via Booking.com or Holidu, and the Beach House is almost fully booked yet again this year. The property is fully legal with a Tourist Licence and NRA. In the meantime here are some flamingos, our neighbours😁.

We have now had 10 reviews on Booking.com and an overall rating of 9.6, with some lovely comments. We also had a visit from the Murcian Tourist Board inspector, who said our house was 'Stupendo'. Feeling good :) :) :)

The busy bit of our first season of being hosts to a beach holiday house is almost over. We have loved it. I don't know if we have been lucky or it's the market we have appealed to, but our guests have been brilliant. We have met German, Latvian, Ukraine, Irish, Portuguese, Columbian and lots of Spanish guests who we would welcome back gladly. Most booking were through Booking.com. It's quietening down now, maybe we will get time to get our toes in the sand ourselves. :)

The Beach House is fully booked until the end of August. There is just one downside. I always saw myself as 'Management' material, despite any lack of ability. I didn't realise Host means helping with the cleaning and changeovers. My area of expertise has become hopping each side of a glass shower screen adding and removing smears. My new title of 'Senior Executive' assistant cleaner, (part time) goes some way towards pacifying my Ego. :)

Well we are getting lots of people booking the beach house. First guests were Columbian and German, then Latvian and Ukraine, now guests from the Ukraine and Venezuela have arrived. They came here on large motorbikes to see Scorpion and Whitesnake in the local city of Cartagena. Julia was able to talk bikes as an ex Harley/ Ducati and every other bike rider. I wish I had my mate Mike with me so I could talk Rocky stuff, they didn't seem impressed with my 'Fine Young Cannibals' or 'Lighthouse Family' chat...apparently Elton isn't Hard Rock enough either despite the excellent lyrics of Crocodile Rock. . :(

Finished, We have finally finished. 2 years of self-isolation during lockdown and the horrible covid world we have learnt to tile, plumb and many other jobs. Julie snapping a tendon mid restoration but we have now finished and absolutely loved restoring this beautiful house on the beach. We would like to especially thank our two self isolation buddies 'Google' and 'You tube' without whom many jobs would have been much more difficult. I still managed to drill through water pipes despite their help, so think they should shoulder some of the responsibility for that bout of bad language. The problem is after talking about nothing else apart from restoring this lovely house we cant remember who we promised 'mates/ family rates' when it was finished. Humble apologies, especially as this project is all we have talked about to anyone and everyone. I have taken the liberty of sending this to everyone. If you are interested in coming to Los Urrutias it would be a pleasure to see you. Now we have finished, we have nothing to talk about. :)
