One of the most popular golf courses on the Costa del Sol is Los Naranjos Golf, situated in Nueva Andalucia.

Los Naranjos is over 30 years old and is one of the oldest golf courses on the coast. Designed by the world famous architect Robert Trent Jones, who debuted in Spain by designing Sotogrande and Las Brisas.

Los Naranjos is a typical Robert Trent Jones course, with wide fairways and large greens. The course opened in 1977 and was run by the same management as Las Brisas.

Both Las Brisas and Los Naranjos were sold in 1982 to the Romero Sauer Group. Las Brisas became a membership course and Naranjos became a pay and play course. A new clubhouse was built and the holes were changed so that hole one is situated to the right of the new clubhouse.

In 1989, the golf course was sold to the Swedish businessman Percy Nilsson. His strategy was to change to a limited membership course with opportunities for green fee guests. The holes were changed and made room for the now famous hole 18, which has a length of more than 500 meters, located directly in front of the clubhouse. The new tees are created using Tifway 419 Bermuda grass, which is very durable. All green bunkers have new drainage and new sand. The course has become 6038 meters from the yellow tee and 5154 from red tee. Several of the holes are a big challenge, Los Naranjos is now a golf course that is difficult but is easy to walk. In 2009, a new driving range was completed with a new large patio at the clubhouse.

Los Naranjos is for every golfer; hard hitters, safe players, high and low handicaps.

For the past 20 years we have been going to La Red a chiringuito on the Marbella paseo.

There is a large and varied menu with fresh fish, pasta, paella, children´s dishes etc so is great for all the family. We always choose lots of smaller dishes and share them out.

In the summer, they put tables and chairs right on the sand and is open for both lunch and dinner.

There are large screens to watch sports and a bar area if you just want to pop down for a drink. The owners are always welcoming and friendly.

It is a also a good venue for groups and we highly recommend their Paella - Enjoy :-)
