Rapid covid test centers set up in 15 Spanish airports to facilitate travel and avoid quarantines
Malaga airport to open Covid clinic to facilitate travel
Malaga Airport has been chosen to be one of the 15 most popular airports in Spain to receive a specially built Covid test center in its departure area to help expats and tourists return home more easily.
The owners of Aena Airport have announced that the busy Costa del Sol airport will be among those, including Madrid Barajas Airport, which will benefit from the new clinics, which will be built expressly to facilitate travel outside Spain, possibly avoiding quarantines in the countries of origin of arriving passengers.
The clinic will be located in the departures area of the airport and will see tests performed primarily on passengers who will need to show them at their destination airport, saving travelers from having to spend part of their vacation location clinics to have tests carried out.
Aena said:
“This service will help facilitate the return of tourists to their country. Currently, to access an airport to perform these tests, it will be necessary to have a boarding pass, as access is limited to passengers.
The company said it had awarded the contract to provide the airport tests to UTE Recoletas-Arquimea-Lagben-GTT health clinic, which "offered the most competitive price for the tests". Aena assured that all tests administered will "comply with current health regulations and approved by the Ministry of Health."
Other Spanish airports that will benefit from the new clinics are expected to include Alicante-Elche, Valencia, Seville and Palma de Mallorca.
The Malaga Airport clinic will benefit from waiting, testing and isolation areas and it is hoped it will help travel to countries of origin while Covid restrictions are in place.

WEATHER WARNING!
2020 has thrown a lot at us, and 2021 does not seem to be letting up just yet either. On top of COVID, you may have heard on the news recently, if you are in Spain, that we have a severe heavy rain alert from tomorrow (Wednesday 6th Jan) until Saturday 8th and possibly into next week. In the recent 24 hours northern Spain has seen heavy snowfall.

http://www.aemet.es/en/eltiempo/prediccion/avisos

Obviously, we need the rain, but when it comes in such quantity that the government issues warnings, we all need to be aware of the possible problems it may cause us. We do not wish to cause any panic or alarm, but we do want to make sure you are fully informed and can take any appropriate action to keep yourself and your property safe should the worst of the storms hit.

Flooding is to be expected. Move any vehicles out from underground garages that may be prone to flooding or could be at risk if drains are overwhelmed. Please don’t forget about storage rooms as well!!

Your property, under normal circumstances, may not be at risk but consider this as 'highly unusual', so double check everything. If your property has previously suffered flooding or damage due to rain, please take extra precautions this time around. Look at moving any furniture and property to a higher floor. Anything that is outside, bring inside, so as not to be lost, or cause an issue to anyone else.

Make your windows are closed and locked shut, and consider closing exterior blinds where installed.

Now is the time to check and clear gulley’s, gutters, drains, etc. Where possible or at least remove obvious debris by hand and/or hose them clean.

Be prepared!! Roads may be impassable. Underpasses often flood during these times. Standing water often makes road markings impossible to see, and roads can be slippery,

Please take some time today to check on home and property. If you’re not in Spain, consider reaching out to a friend, neighbour or your Communidad for help.

Stay Safe,
Kind Regards from all the team.
