On May 30th, 1983, the Canary Islands proudly became an Autonomous Region of Spain, with the Government of the Canary Islands Parliament convening for the first time. Since then, this day has been a vibrant celebration of Canarian culture across all eight islands and two provinces.
Expect a festive atmosphere in nearly every town and village, with locals dressed in traditional post-conquest attire, performing folk dances, and offering tastings of delicious local produce. This day is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique traditions and warm hospitality of the Canaries.
