Welcome to the page for our apartment located within Sitio del Golf (Place of Golf) complex in Mijas, Costa del Sol. Tomorrow my family and I collect the keys to this beautiful apartment we have spent the best part of a year searching for. Located in Mijas we are a lovely riverside walk into Fuengirola and only 20 min drive from Malaga airport. We chose this location as it meets a long list of 'w
ishes' we had devised, which included having somewhere within easy reach of shops, bars and restaurants but away from the hustle and bustle of Fuengirola. With two young children who love the 'pool scene' on holiday, finding apartments with a good sized pool which meets the new Spanish legislation was a struggle. You will see Sitio del Golf complex has massive pool and garden areas, which are already meeting the legislation that has been introduced to keep pools safer for young children. Lifeguards are also on duty during May through September. My children love exploring when on holiday so being near Fuengirola we can easily link to the Spanish rail network for adventuring. With a circle of friends and family who are keen golfers it was a necessity that we found somewhere where we can can enjoy a round of golf and take advantage of some of the best courses in Spain. Costa del Sol is undergoing a marketing campaign promoting all of its courses under the strapline of 'Costa del Golf'. Our apartment lets golfers take advantage of not one but TWO top courses. The golf terrace off the master bedroom overlooks the 15th hole of Los Olivis so, when having a rest from the golf, you can watch your fellow golf followers while relaxing with a cold drink. Being next door to the Tamisia Golf Hotel you can enjoy the facilities which include spa treatments, entertainment and freshly prepared food. Our apartment in Sitio del Golf is also near a large shopping and cinema complex that would rival any you would find in the UK. There are plenty of attractions nearby but in contrast, being close to Mijas Puablo, La Cala and Cabbopino 'traditional Spain' can easily be explored. We also want to be able to enjoy some of the best nightlife in Southern Spain when we visit minus the children! Fuengirola, Benalmadena, Torremolinos can all be easily reached by train, bus or taxi. Marbella, Puerto Banus, Nikki Beach and Ocean Club Marbella are reached by bus or taxi. (Taxi fare Approx €50, local 6 seater/minibus hire is available, I may provide recommendations in future posts)
