October is a perfect month for hiking in Andalusia 🚶‍♀️ Lots of sun and blue skies, but the temperatures are not too high for long walks in nature 🫒👌🏼

🥾🌿 Two days hiking the Vía Verde del Aceite!
One of our favourite ways to explore this beautiful corner of Andalucía. We walked around 27 km from Doña Mencía to Alcaudete, passing through olive country, old railway stations and the landscapes around Zuheros and Luque. 🫒⛰️
🚂 A Vía Verde is an old railway line that has been converted into a traffic-free trail for walking and cycling — easy to follow, with gentle gradients and plenty of wonderful views.
🚗 Where to start: park for free at the Vía Verde car park beside the old railway station in Doña Mencía and step straight onto the trail. If you’re walking one way to Alcaudete, arrange a lift or leave a second car near the old Alcaudete station.
Perfect for a two-day hiking adventure during your stay at Cortijo Berruguilla. 🥾☀️🫒

🍽️✨ A gourmet experience just 30 minutes from Cortijo Berruguilla!
One of the joys of staying with us is discovering the hidden gems of rural Granada — and Casa Piolas in Algarinejo is definitely one of them. 🌿
Their seasonal Slow Food tasting menu celebrates the flavours of our region, with creative dishes inspired by local produce, Andalusian farm traditions, olives, olive oil, vegetables, cheeses, meats and homemade desserts.. 🍷🫒
Stay in the peaceful countryside, explore the area, and treat yourself to unforgettable Andalusian gastronomy.
