🪨 Cueva del Puerto – Calasparra
Head underground into impressive cave chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites. The tourist visit lasts around an hour and also includes an unusual luminous-minerals area. (turismoregiondemurcia.es⁠)

🌙 Barrancos de Gebas – Alhama de Murcia
An amazing protected landscape of dramatic ravines that is often compared to the surface of the moon. (turismoregiondemurcia.es⁠)

Life Is Too Short

Sometimes life has a way of reminding you just how precious and fragile it really is.

We can all get caught up in everyday worries, little disagreements, things that annoy us, or plans we think we have plenty of time for. Then something happens that suddenly puts everything into perspective.

Life really is too short to hold onto silly arguments, to put things off, or to assume there will always be another day.

Spend time with the people you love. Make the phone call. Give the hug. Say what you feel. Make the memories, take the photos, laugh at the silly things and enjoy the ordinary days — because one day you realise those ordinary days were actually some of the most precious ones.

None of us really knows what is around the corner, so while we can, we should appreciate the people who matter to us and make the most of the time we have together. ❤️

😂 Oh, how things change when your children become adults…

When mine were growing up, I used to hear:

“I can’t wait until I’m an adult!”
“I won’t have to follow any rules!”
“No one will tell me what to do!”
“I’ll do what I want!” 🤣

Fast-forward a few years…

Now I hear:

“Oh my God, I don’t like being an adult!”
“Why didn’t I appreciate college/uni?”
“Life was so easy and I didn’t even realise it!”
“I’m fed up with working!”

And my answer is always:

“Well… you’ve only got another 40 years of that to go!” 🤣🤣

Then comes the cooking, cleaning, washing, shopping, bills and keeping a house running.

And suddenly they’re noticing things I spent YEARS moaning about.

The toilet roll was always my favourite. 😂

I could leave spare toilet rolls right there in the bathroom, but somehow replacing the empty one was still apparently my job.

I’d say:

“Why can’t you just take the empty one off and put a new one on?”

And I’d get the full Kevin response…

“Why should I have to do that? I’ve got loads to do!” 🤣🤣

Loads to do apparently… but not quite enough time to perform the exhausting 10-second task of changing a toilet roll. 😂

And on more than one occasion, one of them would go to the toilet without even checking whether there was any paper first…

Then suddenly I’d hear from upstairs:

“MUUUUM! I NEED TOILET ROLL!” 😂😂😂

So now they’ve got their own homes, I’m seriously considering taking an empty toilet roll with me when I visit and just leaving it there.

Maybe kick my shoes off in the middle of the floor too.

Leave a cup lying around.

Switch a few lights on.

Then sit down and ask:

“What’s for dinner?” 🤣

And if they say:

“Mum, can you pick that up?”
“Mum, turn that light off!”
“Mum, why have you left an empty toilet roll there?”

I’ll just smile and say…

WELCOME TO THE ADULT WORLD! 😂😂😂

Funny how they couldn’t wait to grow up…

Now they realise being a child wasn’t such a bad deal after all. ❤️

❤️ A little personal update from me ❤️

You may have noticed I haven’t been posting quite as much about Casa Mulrella and Hacienda del Álamo recently.

I’m away spending some much-needed quality time with my family and friends, and I’m really looking forward to having all my children together in the same place, along with their partners. ❤️

It’s not often we manage to get everyone together at the same time, so it’s going to be very special.

And on Sunday, my boys will finally meet their sister’s new boyfriend for the first time. 😂

Will they like him?
Will he survive the interrogation?
Will she regret introducing them all at once? 🤣

We will definitely find out on Sunday! 😂 Poor lad probably has no idea what he’s walking into, but if he passes the brother test, I think he’ll be just fine. 😜❤️

We’ve also been going through a very difficult and worrying time with my partner’s sister being extremely unwell. It has been especially hard for my partner and has really made us realise just how quickly life can change, whatever your age.

Life really is too short. ❤️

Sometimes we get so caught up in everyday life that we forget to stop and make time for the people who matter most. We should all try to make that precious time for our family and friends, enjoy being together, have a laugh and make memories whenever we can.

So for a little while, you may see slightly fewer posts from me while I enjoy some very precious family time.
