Just minutes from our B&B, this amazing greenway winds through tunnels, olive groves and stunning country side — perfect for walking, cycling, bird watching (vultures) or simply slowing down and breathing.
🚴♀️ Did you know the Vía Verde de la Sierra wasn’t always a greenway? 🌿
Before it became this incredible cycling and walking route that so many of our guests can’t stop talking about, it was meant to be a railway.
🚂 100 years ago the constructiom of the railway line was approved — meant to connect towns and help transport goods through the Sierra. But the project stalled, money ran out, and the line was never finished. Not a single train ever ran on it!
Decades later, this unfinished railway with its tunnels, bridges and old stations was transformed into the peaceful, scenic route you can explore today
