Dark Matter Labs' Cities Transition Lab came together in the Costa Brava recently at to spend in-person and in-nature time, planning our future.

La Bruguera is run by a member of DML and their family, is within cycling distance of DM's Post-growth work in the city of Girona with &

Our time together was super valuable and reminds of the d verse strengtgs of our community and how lovely it is to be physically together even if it is only for 5 days. Many of those lessons of community - sufficiency and Interbeing are the kinds of things we try to roll itnto our work with governments, foundations, and institutions in positions to push for an eco-social transition.

ORGANIZE & DEMONSTRATE NOW 🇵🇸🇨🇩🇱🇧🇺🇦🇸🇩
Another thing that has been keeping us busy and away from social media this spring has been getting out and protesting the Imperialist, Zionist, Capitalist, Colonial wars and conflicts happening around the world, of which the Palestin!an g€noc1de is the most horrendous.

Working with La Pera per Palestina (every Saturday on the side of the C66 where villages on the road from Girona to Palamos come out at 10am to show solidarity), Montgrí per Palestina (where our told the tale of his arrest and interrogation by the IOF in the 2nd intifada, and their using a toy armoured bulldozer to threathen to crush him), and promoting the work of others like and our neighbours (see the last slide regarding theor 23rd of May event), has all been keeping us busy.

If sticking up for humanity, human rights of ALL peoples and basic humanity as our western governments stand by and allow their partner Israel to commit absolute atrocities is political, then la Bruguera is unapologetically political.

The meta algorithm probably won't like this, and there may be those who see thus as unrelated to phr lkne of business, but our position is clear and steadfast as a centre which promotes respect and repair and regeneration of people and planet. Ethnic cleansing, gen0c1d€, racism, settler violence, colonialism, and the support of any of these ideologies tacitly or expressly are an absolute NO to us. ❌

🐌 Degrowth Màster Students!!

Photo dump! What a weekend: visits from the 40 students doing the and .stories Degrowth Masters degree to us here at La Bruguera. We toured the finca, looked at our bioconstruction greenhouse and Agroforestry / silvohorticulture system, built a light straw clay wall in the technique we learned from , did a collective poetry exercise and concluded with some "Interbeing" à la Thich Nhat Hanh (look him up if you don't know his work)!

More content to come from this lovely weekend. Sharing our project with student changemakers really is SO great though. Thanks to all of you!

🪲MEET OUR RESIDENTS 🐌

Community Sufficiency vs Self Sufficiency, as we always say. But like the humans that came long before Empires, Colonialism, and Capitalism, those humans who were truly connected to nature, or really part of nature, we must define community as all beings. Everything. Everyone. Interbeing.

So here's a post to introduce you to some of the members of the La Bruguera community, who are in charge of many functions of our ecosystem (most of which we don't understand).

They can be your fellow guests or your guides if you come to spend time in the Bruc-Cork-Oak universe that is La Bruguera. 🌳

🌼[almost] SPRING 🌸

On the morning wander to feed our more-than-human co-habitants today 🐷🐔😽 there was a lot of plant-based colour from the flowers in the LaB forest garden.

"Will a lady pin me in her hair? [...] Kiss my petals, weave me through a dream?" they ask, according to Minnie Ripperton 🎶

They also light up the finca, feed our buzzing and flying pollinators and provide a visual poetry of summer fruits to come! 🦇🐝🦜

The last one in the carousel is Bruc (where La Bruguera gets its name), and the video allows you to hear thr morning chorus of pre-spring 🕊️🪶

🎶 Labour Circle Tunes! ⚒️

Labourers and labour movements have sung and made music together for hundreds of years, coordinating their movements, protesting working conditions, and building solidarity through melody and rhythm.

This weekend, the labour circle organised by (see previous post) was no exception to this rule, and we were blessed and blown away by a lovely performance by singer-songwriter and a dj set by Lixxi ().

We felt these two deserved a post of their own away from the "work" of the weekend, as collective leisure and conviviality is a critical - absolutely CRITICAL- part of any eco-social transition and activist movement.

To the dance floor! ✊🔥
