Motto: Soul Diving and Letting Go :
Let me take you on another spiritual journey with Harri. This time in the beautiful and wild nature and setting of Quentar, a small village next to Granada within the mountain range called Sierra Nevada. I found this great guesthouse called “Fundalucia”, founded already more than 20 years ago by Thomas Gottwald. It used to serve as a kind of place for a spiritual community of people, living together their in a loose group. Over time the place developed first into a couchsurfing place hosting people for free and eventually into a “normal” guesthouse to be able to keep it still running as costs were increasing over time. Nonetheless it was still comparably cheap compared to other places, especially for the value that one was getting in this place.

Mountain view, pool, nice facilities build with a lot of wooden appliances. The village of Quentar itself is surrounded by olive, almond and cherry trees. Even more so it was interesting and special at Fundalucia because of the people living there and operating it, especially Thomas and Axel. Axel used to live there when the place was still the community in the years after its foundation and he stayed and now mainly operates the guesthouse. Of course Thomas is also living there and the place is build up in a way that you have the “private” accommodations of the residents behind a small fence and the “public” spaces for the guests in and around the main house .

Thomas' personal vita is a very interesting one, as he emigrated from Germany to Spain with a converted fire truck a few decades ago and he has also published a book about parts of his life journey (“Andalusia - Land of Shamans”). I found a copy of the book in the small guesthouse library and through that got into contact about these topics first with Axel and eventually Thomas himself. Thomas is counselling and mentoring people for free through open conversations but also hypnosis sessions. He is a spiritual guide and used to be a “Sufi” master, which is the name for spiritual mentors and mystics from the Arabic / Turkish region, connected to the Islam. This is how we also came into talking and after our first longer conversation he offered me to come back later that day for a hypnosis session.

And I can tell you, this first session was very intense and insightful and it wouldn´t be the last. As I decided to stay in Fundalucia for 6 days we would have the time for multiple meetings and this even included a so called “soul diving” or “past life regression”. Who would have thought, but it seemed like I either had a past life as a monk in Korea or that my soul has a special connection to another life that took place there. Respectively, another interpretation could be that the images I saw and experienced from there are something that can help me with my current manifested life today.

I already had several very interesting experiences along my journey, also in the spiritual sense, and this whole episode with Thomas in the Sierra Nevada mountains added even more perspectives and dimensions to that. It brought together some lines of thought, some questions which were still running through my head, some memories and emotional pain from the past, and helped me to see things more clearly and to solve some inner issues. One further step on realigning my inner puzzle of human nature within the broader context of myself as a piece of puzzle in the whole universe.

I´m very grateful for this and with this blog post also want to express my deep gratitude to Thomas, Axel and the other people from Fundalucia!

During these sessions, being on a long inner journey, I also came in contact with the so called “council of elders” and my own inner “spiritual guide”, but about these things we rather should have a private conversation at some point :) Interestingly enough the spiritual guide was a cheetah again, confirming my experience from the Ashram back in Colombia in March!

What was also quite special about the stay there was a massage session I booked and received within the guesthouse, more specifically within a wooden hut specifically build for purposes like this (you can see a picture and video in the gallery – it´s the one with the small fountain in the middle). That session was a very unique combination of Thai massage, Japanese feet reflexology, a healing sound bowl and some more styles. I have to honestly admit that it was one of the best massages I ever received in my life!

I also helped reviewing Thomas’ second book, which is still unpublished but will hopefully come out soon. It was nice to give a little personal contribution to that project :)

Of course during these days I was also out and about enjoying the nature, doing a great bike tour on the fast and curvy asphalt roads winding themselves through the mountains as well as the sandy and bumpy hiking trails. There have been also 1-2 times where I had to get up the bike as the path simply was too steep for me haha

Hiking was also a lot of fun, although for all these activities I always had to take into account that the heat would usually reach 40 Degree Celsius in the afternoon. So starting early was definitely recommended if I didn’t wanna vaporize under the sun.

Besides that the days were sweetened by hanging at the pool, reading, writing a little bit myself and cooking. Since there´ve also been a few other guests (usually 5-6 besides me) I also spend some valuable social time in a smaller group.

And of course with the cute little tortoise living outside in the garden 🐢
