Si algo caracteriza es su potencial,
hoy de la mano de Jose Vega Diaz os sugerimos que planeéis una visita a Ribota De Sajambre una pequeña localidad en pleno corazón del Valle de Sajambre en el Parque Nacional de Picos de Europa.
Lejos de la masificación turística Ribota se caracteriza por su barrio de arriba y abajo, los horreos y casas típicas de montaña, sus escuelas restauradas, sus huertas y praos con enormes Hispano Bretones pastando, así como ser la puerta al Desfiladero de los Bellos de camino a la vecina Asturias.
Rutas de senderismo y gastronomía son otros de los atractivos que merece la pena descubrir de la pequeña RIBOTA DE SAJAMBRE

One serious BBQ! The Fiesta de San Juan takes place in Ribota on the 24th of June each year. When I was young and the village was full of families, it was a much bigger festival. Lots of food, un campeonato de bolos, and a big firework finish.
These days family and friends come from many of the surrounding villages and celebrate with a huge meal. There’s a church procession and traditional music as well. We were lucky enough to be in the village this year for San Juan, what a treat!

Fuente del In****no is one of my favorite family traditions. Water runs down from the glacier and out through a small spigot. We think the water is lucky & medicinal! Every trip back home we stop at the Fuente and fill up our water bottles. Best water I’ve ever tasted.

When I was 19 and studying in Spain my cousin (pictured) came to visit me. I absolutely thought it was “just around the corner” and so we set off from to walk there. Unfortunately it turns out the Fuente is 18km from the village (each way) so turned out to be quite a journey!
