Today in La Palma — Storm Therese: the system bringing life back to the island
Storm Therese hasn’t just brought wind, rain, and changes to daily life in La Palma over the past weeks; it has brought balance, purity, and renewal.
Its rainfall soaks into the volcanic soil, replenishes aquifers, and awakens vegetation after years without a similar phenomenon on the island.
Amid clouds and powerful gusts, the island breathes again: the air is cleansed, the hills turn green, and water once more finds its way beneath the surface.
Just 500 meters from our hostel, in the direction of Santa Cruz, lies Barranco del Agua, a place that today shines with exceptional greenery, honoring the title of our island, known as “La Isla Bonita” and, at times like this, truly a green island.
Because sometimes, a rainstorm doesn’t destroy… it regenerates. 🌧️🌿
