What’s that we smell by the pool? Why, yes it is sunscreen. And freshly brewed coffee (it is early, after all). And the tasty wafts of breakfast floating down from the terrace. But no… that’s not quite what we’re looking for. It’s the sweet smell of September; that slightly crisper, fresher type air that reminds us – summer is far from over, but we have turned that last corner towards the end. Who’s with us this month?

It’s just five days away from what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 80th birthday. EIGHTY YEARS OLD! Can you imagine? Oh yes we can – propped up at the Pikes bar, regaling us with wild tales of the 80s and probably still demanding we bring the piano down to the poolside so he could spontaneously host a singalong. Would he have gone grey gracefully, or insisted on dying his hair jet-black? Sadly, we’ll never know, but that’s just the way it was meant to be. As it is, we love to preserve the memory of Freddie just as he was – truly one-of-a-kind, with a sense of whimsy, wonder and magic that's never been seen since – and we do love celebrating his heavenly birthdays each year. Ahhh the sweet sounds of September! Week 22 is a whopper, so let’s just get straight into it… Mondays are Mondaying more than they’ve ever Mondayed as we hit the very first day of September. All we can say is: be there!

Tuesdays are a double whammy – opt for the Bathtub Club here at Pikes or go all-in with us over the road at 528 Ibiza, where Pikes Presents Edris Drew B2B Octo Octa, Sally C and Faited in the sweet September air on the Garden Stage, with Gideon and Cami Jones in the Club until late.

The man, the myth and the maestro returns on Wednesday – yes, we’re talking none other than David Morales, all night long. Then on Thursday… get ready to Freddie! It’s our annual Freddie Rocks charity shindig and we encourage you to dip deep, donate, draw on a ‘tash and get involved as we honour Freddie Mercury’s 80th birthday.

On Friday, we go dive deep into the underground, as we invite Berghain’s Panorama Bar resident PARAMIDA to take the controls of Freddies for the next instalment of Pikes Sessions. Trust us – this one will be talked about for seasons to come!

Now, when it comes to our Pikes House Party on Saturday, we are sorry to tell you it’s already completely sold out… but perhaps we should have led with the good news! We’re throwing an extra special Saturday night edition of Pikes Presents at 528 Ibiza with the mighty trio of Hunee B2B Erol Alkan B2B Luke Una on the Garden Stage, and the mega duo of CC: Disco! and Paula Tape taking care of things in the Club.

As you all know, Sundays at Pikes are always pretty bloody Balearic but this week takes it to another level, with the Is It Balearic? Recordings 20 year anniversary celebrations taking shape from mid-afternoon poolside antics until Nick switches those bright lights on when we close Freddies. Who’s behind the decks? Well… we’re keeping that a secret for now – just as we’ll be doing for the next day, when Monday rolls around, doing its Monday thing once again.
