Es Broll de Buscastell, features a 4.5-kilometer-long, 1,000-year-old Moorish (Andalusian) irrigation system powered by one of the island’s most significant aquifers.

Buscastell villa is the only property where the system runs through the entire grounds.

It uses an intricate network of stone-walled terraces, canals, tunnels, and ponds, called acequias, to distribute water from the natural spring (the Broll or “spurt”) throughout the valley, transforming it into a lush, fertile oasis.

The system dates back to the Arab domination of the island.

Water Source: The Es Broll spring is a natural, high-volume aquifer, often yielding between 12,000 and 60,000 liters per hour depending on the season.
At the moment, after the recent rain, we can enjoy it working to its full potential.

The water is managed through a complex, gravity-fed system of stone channels, pools, and floodgates.

The area is characterized by terraces that support almond, orange, carob, and olive trees.

Buscastell is very popular for hikers, bikers, tour guides & those who appreciate nature & privacy.
