WillowMoon Back Open For Business!
Willowmoon is covid free and we are striving hard to keep it that way. Sitges and the surrounding area is now in an eased lockdown phase with hotels and restaurants opening up to the public again, so after some thought we are doing the same. Our guest area has a private entrance with separate living quarters, so guests can comfortably keep to themselves whilst staying on board and can make good use of our large deck spaces to enjoy the sun, relax chill out and enjoy the views. Naturally we are still available for the odd chat and to help out if anyone needs us!
The guest area contains hand sanitiser and is thoroughly cleaned between stays using products designed to kill bacteria and viruses. All food is prepared with gloves and face masks, but we can also offer you the option of a room only stay with no breakfast. Just ask! There is a fridge in the wheelhouse where you can store and keep your own food and drink. Please contact us if you have any questions at all as we will do our best to make sure you have a fun and comfortable stay on board without having to worry about that pesky virus!

Sitges Carnival 2020

If you are looking for some fun and festivity this February then book yourself a stay on board Willowmoon for Sitges Carnival. The carnival takes place from the 20th-26th February and in fact there are plenty of activities in February before this leading up to the main events. On Saturday 8th you can watch the choice of the Children's Carnival Queen at the Prado Casino, whilst if you are still wondering what to wear then get yourself kitted out at the 2nd hand costume market in the Gardens of the Retreat Societat Recreativo. Then head off at noon to the Palau del Rei Moro for the Children's party for snacks vermut and beer. I think the alcohol is just for the adults! Things kick off in earnest with the infamous Disabled Bed Race that rushes through town on the 22nd, whilst the opening parades take place on Sunday 23rd. The Childrens Parade at Noon followed by the Adults Parade at 7.30pm. The party then continues all night and fr some until the final parades on the 25th. More feasting then continues on Ash Wednesday (26th) with the Vermut of the Living Party at the Hort de Can Falc, where you can gorge of bread and sardines, washed down with plenty of vermut. Then head down to the beach for a few more bbq fish and the final closing ceremony seeing the burial of the Giant Sardine. You can even bbq your own back on board Willowmoon and your own private party!

Excitingly, Willowmoon was used for the exclusive opening film after-party here in the Marina this year for the Sitges Film Festival as they thought Willowmoon fitted in with this years Mad Max theme. After the boat was set up for the party (which you can see in the photos), Willowmoon looked more glam than Mad Max, but it was a really fun event. Our guests at the time enjoyed it too. So if you want to mingle with a few Hollywood stars book yourself a trip to Sitges in October in 2020! I've also attached a link to a video clip produced by the Film Festival for that day. Fun Times Ahead in the Port

Over the Summer months of July and August the Port in Sitges hosts some really good free concerts that are open to everyone, starting tonight with a Beatles tribute band. This year there is a wide variety of modern and classic music styles and also a night of short films in collaboration with the International Sitges Film Festival. So have a look at the programme and if you fancy coming and staying late then book a night on Willowmoon. Have a great night out and then just a few minutes walk before you can cosy up in bed or have a quiet gin and tonic up on deck!

GRAFFITIPORTDESITGES

Well the winner of our little poll was a tie between the ecomural and the water wind woman both of which received 4 votes, However the ecomural scored 80% in its head to head compared to the 67% scored by the water wind woman against the picasso fish. So Willowmoon will be registering a vote for the eco-mural! I think the actual results are announced at the end of next month and we will let you know the actual winner here. I have my reservations about the eco-mural as although it ties in with some good sympathies about the bad impact we are all having on the environment, the artwork is a bit basic. Some of the others were perhaps artistically more clever!

MOSTRA D'ART URBA!

The Port of Sitges is celebrating it's inaugral Urban art show this weekend on the 13th and 14th April.opening its doors to urban graffiti artists to paint on 90 square metres of seafront walls. Six artists will be competing with the theme of Sitges and the Sea to showcase their art. So if you are in Sitges this weekend you can come down and watch them work in situ. Willowmoon still has availability this weekend, so if you want to set up camp and keep an eye on how the works progress over the weekend you surely can (with a 10% discount in mentioning this advert).
But never worry if you are not around this weekend as the works will be on show for the next two months. You can vote for your favorite work and enter a raffle by doing so. You might win a night's accommodtaion in the Port and dinner at one of the Marina's fashionable restaurants!
