Normally we are swimming by now but the weather has been so cold we’re a bit behind. The pool needed some repairs (about 400 individual tiles 😦) and today we started filling. 38000L in a couple of hours from the tanker but still have to put in some from our well which will take about a week. Think the girls may want to paddle today as the sun is out 😊 thanks Sergio Inox

New in-mainhouse creation! @ Cortijo Isabel!
Converted our junk room to a new snug as it's so cold here in the main house. With no central heating or carpet we have a log fire and gas fires but the rooms are so huge it doesn't warm enough. Watch this space..

Seville orange curd from our special tree. Next on list our lemons. We have had so much rain we have some giant ones. What a treat fresh lemons. Watch this space...

Nice view today 😂 saying it might even go down to 1 on Tuesday night which will definitely be the coldest we’ve had in the house. Maybe even snow ⛄️

18L of organic extra virgin olive oil should last us a while. Definitely need to sort out the irrigation for next year and could get a lot more !
While there picked up some wood for the fire. €20 for a boot full 👍

Well the olives are picked. Days of neck straining, arms aching and legs hurting are finished thank god ! . Not many this year, maybe 100kg, we would get more if water them 🙄. Only 6 trees out of 60 had fruit, no winter rain last year didn’t help.
Tomorrow we take them to the press so will see what we get back in oil. We guess 15L, what’s your guess ?🤔

7 bikes in 2 days with a quick turnaround between. Fortunately they arrive late and leave early 🙃

Biker season is upon us now it’s cooled down. We’ve had guests stay so they can race at the Almeria circuit and this weekend we have Racer Andalusia which is 2000+ bikers racing from Seville. Gumball on two wheels! Our town is a stop point so had a few bookings. Not sure what’s going on but sure we’ll get to see some fancy bikes 😊

When you live in Spain, the summer months are great but with no rain since April fires are a big worry. Unfortunately the mountain about 1km away went up last night. We are lucky that the bomberos are amazing and have been there all day and night and have managing to control the fire 🙏 2 helicopters filling big bags from our neighbors water deposit and 2 amazing fire planes that fly down to the sea, fill up and back to drop on the fires. Must have done 60+ trips today and still dropping now. Keeping everything crossed that it doesn’t come our way 😧
