Our Story
Casas Heddy’s founder, Heddy Astrup dreamt of opening a holiday resort adapted for people with disabilities. Her idea was that the visitors should enjoy the benefits of the sun, sea and climate of Lanzarote, to enhance their physical and mental wellbeing. Casas Heddy opened in 1975 and was owned and operated by the Oslo Red Cross from 1981. Building on a 45 year history of specialized and elderly care, our community continues to evolve. In 2020 a new ownership team, including health and longevity professionals, revitalized the resort and continues to deliver the healing services that have changed and benefited so many people’s lives.
