Someone was asking us the other day how the work is progressing at the site of where the popular Way West restaurant was, so we thought we’d share an update! 👷‍♂️🏗️

As you can see, there’s still plenty of building work going on, but progress is definitely being made.

Just a little further down the road, we stopped to capture this beautiful view and the glorious afternoon sunshine. 💙☀️🌴

🌑☀️ DON’T MISS THIS AMAZING SKY SHOW IN LANZAROTE! ☀️🌑

If you’re lucky enough to be in Lanzarote on Wednesday, 12th August, you’re in for a very special treat! ✨

A solar eclipse will be visible across the Canary Islands, and although we won’t experience totality here in Lanzarote, we’ll see an impressive partial solar eclipse as the Moon passes in front of the Sun. 🌙☀️

📅 Wednesday 12th August
🌞 Eclipse begins: 6:56pm
🌑 Maximum eclipse: around 7:52pm
🌅 Eclipse continues until around 8:40pm

At maximum, approximately 73% of the Sun will be covered from Puerto del Carmen. And because it happens towards sunset, the Sun will be sitting very low in the western sky — potentially creating a spectacular combination of eclipse and Lanzarote sunset! 🌅😍

📍 Our top tip: Find somewhere with a clear, unobstructed view towards the west. The beaches, promenade and coastal viewpoints can offer some fantastic possibilities, but remember that buildings, hills and other obstructions could block the low Sun.

⚠️ PLEASE WATCH SAFELY!
Never look directly at the Sun, even during a partial eclipse. Regular sunglasses are not safe. If you want to watch it, make sure you have proper certified solar eclipse glasses or an appropriate solar filter.

So grab your camera, find a good spot, and get ready for a rather extraordinary Lanzarote sunset! 🌴🌅🌑
