Spring is definitely well underway.
The windows are open & a warm breeze gently moves through the house to warm the home after winter.
Lindsay lindsayteychenne has been doing a fantastic job on the garden. Last year the veggie patch never got planted which was quite a disappointment for us. Lindsay committed to helping us plant this year before he goes on his next long camino.
Jasmine is flowering which reminds me of spring in Australia.
Lemons from last season are ripening on the tree.
Cymbidium orchid has a flower spike.
Roses are blooming & full.
Peonies in bud.
Broom has burst into flower.
Baby pears after the blossom.
Lettuce ready for picking.
The first red & black currants are on the bushes.
Praying for a season of abundance 🙏
Gratitude is our word this month.

Day 2 of season 10.Lots of sunshine & warm smiles from our pilgrims today. Most of the group had been crossing paths since Pamplona so they were all happy to re group & catch up in the sunny garden during the afternoon.
9 pilgrims were made up from the countries below:
1 Australian
1 New Zealander
1 American
1 Taiwan
2 Italians
3 Irish

Casa Susi albergue in Trabadelo is open for season 2026. It’s the beginning of our 10th season on the camino francés.

With great excitement & joy we have opened for season 2026 👏
16th April we opened the doors to 7 pilgrims.Nationalities below:
2 Italians
2 Spanish
1 Canadian
1 French
1 Korean
Lindsay our dear friend & sometimes house mate has been caring for Casa Susi He did a fantastic job at preparing everything for us to open on time & is now busy ‘sorting’ the garden for planting 🙏 Updates coming soon.

Caponata & rice
Chocolate chestnut cake River Cottage
Local rose & red wine & local wood fired bread,delivered to our door daily.
Day 2 is upon us & everything is sparkling for our next guests.
